Batman Europa

Batman Europa will be a 4 issues mini series event supposed to come in late 2005.

Each book will be written by Brian Azzarello and Matteo Casali (Bonerest) and FULLY painted by Jim Lee, Giuseppe Camuncoli (Bonerest, Robin, Hellblazer, The Intimates), Gabriele Dell'Otto and a mysterious artist (she is believed to be french).

Here is a small picture (sorry) for the Batman Europa banner (by Gabriele and colors by Alex Sinclair) which was shown at a German convention last year.

Batman Europa will be published in Europe (Germany, Italy and France) first and USA later!

I think the book is going to be very good. I'm glad DC is doing more projects like this one and solo with such great talent. I could do without Joker but joker painted is one of the coolest things you can do with him artistically.

There was a Panini panel at the Mantova (Italy) comics convention 2006 were the mini series was OFFICIALLY announced.

The book will be released (no date was given) by Panini and DC comics in both Italy, Germany, France and Brazil.

Jim Lee will paint the first book (which will take place in Berlin).

Giuseppe Camuncoli (Intimates, Captain Armageddon, Bonerest) will paint the second book (which will take place in Prague).

Gabriele will paint the third book (which will take place in Roma).

A French artist will paint the fourth book (which will take place in Paris). The mysterious french artist is rumored to be Claire Wendling.

Each book will be 30 pages of art and 48 pages in total with lot of extras (prelims, sketches and behind the scenes stuff).

I hear the same thing about Claire doing the fourth. Pretty reliable source.
