Excellent movie. Have you heard they're developing a TV show based on the movie?

fun. fun. fun.
love the masters in hiding angle, and that the abilities are something one is born with.
it is so beautifully shot. the picture quality is miles ahead of SS. i like KFH better because it has more fighting and bit more "meat" to the story.

Are you sure? There's word from Aint it Crap News that there will be a sequel in film and not TV. (Hong Kong TV shows suck).:

Should've picked it up at Best Buy or another mass merchant the day it streeted then, 'cuz now you'll have to wait six months to a year for the price to change on a new copy.

Yeah, I meant to do that but totally missed it on the day it was released. But I don't mind waiting. These days I haven't been buying that many dvd's. I usually rent something every Friday but haven't found much I've wanted to own.

i love the video store across the street. they sell used dvds for 6.99. they are almost allways in near new condition. they should have this up there in about 6 weeks or less.

This movie kicks all kinds of ass. Loved it, will be one of my faves for the year, for sure. I'm suggesting the DVD to everyone I know.

Sequel? Sweet... I hope.
According to the Taiwanese media, filming of the sequel to Kung Fu Hustle will begin in Shanghai this September or October and will complete by the yearend. Almost everyone, including Stephen Chow himself, Lam Tse-Chung (Chow's sidekick), Yuen Qiu (the Landlady) and Yuen Wah (the Landlord), will reappear in the sequel. Even Chan Kwok-Kwan, whose character died in the first film, will return with a new character. However, Huang Shengyi, who played the female lead, is currently trying to leave Steven Chow's agency and her chance of returning to the sequel is quite small. The action will still be handled by Yuen Wo-Ping and there will be more action sequences in the sequel. The budget is about US$ 15 million and part of it comes from Sony Pictures.

I just saw a film starring the actor and actress who were the landlords in Kung Fu Hustle, called Kung Fu Mahjong... that was pretty entertaining, though a much different film than Kung Fu Hustle in terms of style...
