its like the nutty shit they did to promote the blair witch project (putting up missing persons posters and shit) or the ring (leaving copies of "the tape" around and shit) or whatever.
the idea is that you see that clip (or website or whatever) that you have no idea what it is, and then you go and try and find out. thus discovering the movie. they do it for all kinds of shit these days.
