...wht'a happenin' in the background? Do you listen to music? Watch movies? What kind?

been doing alot of drawing & video editing lately, and all I seem to want on in the background is music DVDs. Concert videos and documentaries. I like having the music to listen to and something to look up at now and again.

"The Complete Jam On Film," Ani Difranco's most recent DVD, "Ramones Raw," "Elvis Costello Live In Memphis," "Public Enemy at the House of Blues," and "Straight, No Chaser" and "Westway to the World" have been on alot here in the last few months...

I tend to like listening to music. It varies, too. From classic rock, to modern metal.

Nothing. I have to be completely free of outside distractions, or I'll never get to work.

I pretty much always have the iPod playing in the background. I have a couple of different play lists with different themes. When I'm drawing or inking, I like faster, upbeat stuff. That might be anything from Tool, Snoop Dog, Frank Sinatra, James Brown, Galactic, etc. When I'm writing, I tend to put on Jazz, or classical and soundtrack stuff. No vocals when I'm writing.

Lots of music. Usually a mix created for what I'm working on.

yeah word, i'm with most of the other people in this thread.

99% of the time there'll be music going on in the background.
for the type of music i'm with, there's always a selection of hip hop and jungle tracks at www.innocentboyproductions.com (www.innocentboyproductions.com) in realPlayer format ... selection changes every month or two.

and go back and forth between this forum alot.

God bless,

when i'm writing, music.

when i'm drawing, tv shows on dvd or music or a ball game or whatever.
when i'm inking i need to listen to music to stay focused, because i hate inking.

I pop in an old episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 for background noice. For some reason drawing while at the same time following all the crazy references gives my mind a creative jolt.

Has to be something I'm familiar with (music or movie I know by heart) or I will completely lose focus and concentrate on the unfamiliar input.
