I am really bored and was playing around with some of those MicroHero websites and came up with a new costume for Iron Fist. What do you guys think?

Sorta like an "Iron Fist" meets "Shang-Chi" kinda number. Very nice.

That's a very nice skirt he's wearing.
Seriously, though, it's actually pretty cool looking.

How can it be "Wong", when it looks so "Wight"?
Sorry. I think I suffered a heat stroke on the golf course today.

Two "Wongs" don't make a "Wight"!..... Yes, I will go there....

I agree. I always hated those slippers......
"Ding....Idea just popped into my head. It doesn't happen that often so excuse me if I run with it....."
If you dig the costume why dont you hook us up with a real picture, "Oh Great Oeming"?

I liked that look too. I just think he needs more of a martial arts look without wearing "fairy" slippers.

I was going to say he could use a stronger shot of martial arts, but I don't think it works. I think he has to be something different, somewhere between super hero and martial artist.
The seventies kung fu stylings of his character have actually been one of the things I haven't liked about him. "Pansy" booties included, but not as much as just the general feeling of the character and his surroundings.

I seriously am just eating up all this new found Iron Fist love.... it just kinda sucks that when I'm hunting out back issues of Power Man and Iron Fist they'll think I'm just hopping on to him because he's the new "in" character and not that I've been a huge Iron Fist fan for so many years now..

Yea, I am in hog heaven too. I have loved Iron Fist since I was a kid. The old Power Man and Iron Fist comic was one of the first books I ever bought. My fond memories of him rank right up there with Captain Carrot. Now if they could just do a decent series with him in it I would be set. As far as Ronin is concerned I very seriously doubt its Iron Fist. My vote is DD.

The last comics with Iron Fist I bought were the final issue of Powerman and Iron Fist - and one of the early issues in the third volume of FF, where he's training Sue Storm (Which is cool).

Yea I remeber that FF one too. Maybe Marvel should run with something like that for Iron Fist. Put him into a mentor type role. Give him a comic named "Dojo" or something were he trains the next generation of super heroes.

I don't know... Iron Fist is an awkward character.
He's kick ass, and could definitely do it - but he really doesn't feel right for it. I don't think he has that kind of stature, or character.
Seriously, I fucking hate the seventies.
If I were on Iron Fist, you'd hate me. I'd strip it all back, and take my own course based on my own martial arts interest. I don't care for the uber-American guy who's gifted with martial arts, and then just hangs around outside the YMCA in Harlem.

I love the simplistic way you break down the whole character. "I don't care for the uber-American guy who's gifted with martial arts, and then just hangs around outside the YMCA in Harlem".... Freakin hilarious. With the way IF has been used over the past two decades anything would help. I say strip him down and rebuild but keep the mystical part of his history. The stature thing I think they could pull it off with just the fact that Sue Storm uses him as her own personal trainer. I think that gives it enough.
This discussion has gotten the creativity flowing. Here we go. IF opens a monestary in New York living the life of teacher for the next generation. The super members of the dojo would be Justice, Firestar, Jubilee, the new Gravity kid and throw in a new-old character like Nighthawk. All of them are college level super heroes that could use this type of instruction.(tweek Nigthawk's background accordingly). Since the monestary is a holy structure he could also give sanctuary to a criminal that is working on turning over a new leaf, Juggernaut. Juggs has always been looking for inner peace and now is his chance. Also, I really dug the relationship Juggs was building with the fish kid in X-Men so maybe have him build the same bond with Gravity. Then throw in some supportive major Marvel characters like Dr. Strange(mystical training), Hank Pym(scientific support), the Wasp(because Hank is there and she could take classes), and Franklin Richards(taking classes). Captain America could even make the Young Avengers take some classes. Have them mix it up with local gangs, mystical beings from IF's past, even Juggy's past coming back to haunt him. Now we got us a book!

I'd probably remove him from New York, and get rid of anything remotely seventies. I'd dramatically change the costume, and try to generate contemporary martial arts style book.
I'm not say it'd be Dragon Ball/Brian Bendis paced fights and dialogues, with the stage being set at non-descript wastelands across the globe. That style of Japanese martial arts story by way of Western design is what I'd probably try, though.
Sort of... Street Fighter meets Daredevil, maybe. :p

As long as I got a reaction thats all that matters. hehe..... I didnt think it was too bad for a 15 minute work up..... :o)
What I was going for was more of Kung Fu meets the X-Men. Give him a Kwai Chang Caine kind of feel. For some reason he just has never filled the role they have put him in over the years so lets go the complete opposite and turn him in to the voice of experience. I really liked the way they handled him in the Fantastic Four when he was teaching Sue Storm, so I say build on that.
