Hey, guys. My crew and I had a blast in Chicago. Met tons of people and got drunk off our asses the whole time. Anyway, we're posting a montage of what we filmed from the trip on our website. I think it should be up tomorrow, but you can check the site's message board for a more accurate update. See you there!

Hey, Red Sonja. I actually saw you there and recognized you from the board, but I'm such a new member that I didn't know if you'd know who I was. You looked great, by the way. I walked up just after you guys were finishing up the Bendis Board photos. Missed out.

I graduated from UNC in 2001 and never left the area. It's a great place to be.

It sure is. I was at the history department for an exchange in 2001/02. Best year of my life so far.

Did you guys compete in the 48 Hour Film Festival in Greensboro last month? I was on Team Underexposed with the spy film: The Gift.

Yeah!! NC rules!!.........Well, some parts, anyway. A friend of mine named Bill worked at Performance until just recently. He now co-owns a bar here.

Damn, dude, a multi-liner post!! We must have REALLY impressed you! Brockton is stoked about you helping to write S&T 2. We're trying to figure out if we can make the Dragon Con, but we may end up going to the Baltimore one instead b/c we have friends there--free stay.

Yeah, I'm so glad we plan on sticking around at least another 3-5 years. If/when we move again, there are more things I'll miss about Carrboro than anywhere else I've lived.

Alex.

We did pretty well. I played an evil spy. "The Gift" won a couple of the awards (special effects and maybe music?) and got second place with the audience award for the night we screened (first place that night won overall, so it was a pleasure losing to them). I met the group through working on a UNC-G graduate film.

At any rate, it was a blast. That says something great about Greensboro's film community that with 30 teams competing there were still more filmmakers in town who didn't take part. I think last year's DVD (compiling all of the 2004 films) was just made available at the Green Bean. I need to pick one up; I was in the Lens Wide Shut film "Foiled," an action/adventure genre where my car came within an inch or two of a plane taking off. I played a barber.

I think a Bill sold me my bike. Sweet, sweet Schwinn Frontier FS. Too bad I had to sell it again before I left because shipping would have been WAY too expensive. And Performance didn't take used bikes, so I had to sell it in some small shop on, uh, Rosemary? Dunno if that's the same street name, but it continues for a while from Rosemary past the tracks and the store is on the right side a bunch of blocks down from Performance. Pretty small shop. The owner was nice but hell, if bikes don't get devalued after a few months.

Anyway, where can I get a copy of Sweet & Tastey? I checked out the trailer and it looks funny as hell.

It's on a DVD that we just put together that you can get on our website. Go to "merchandise" and you'll see a list of all the dvd's you can get from us. It's the one called "Chicago demo" or something like that.
Glad to hear you liked the trailer. The bike shop you're talking about is probably "The Clean Machine," by the way.

That's very cool, man. We don't ever even hear about film awards. I think our stuff is a little less film school-esque contest material and more short sketch comedy short movies, but who knows, maybe that could win??
