SIX- the MOVIE!

Last summer SIX, a one shot OGN came out via Image comics, written by myself and Dan Berman, art by Ethen Beavers and inks by me. It was well received and we are doing a follow up.

Also that summer, I secretly shot and directed a short film version of SIX!

It was my first film, shot with no-budget on digital and edited at home. Co-written by Dan Berman.

Its not "pi" but Im still pretty happy with it as my first short.

I'll release the full film online soon, and it will run in several film festivals including the Brooklyn International Film Festival in June.

But in the meantime I'm only releasing this little Trailer I put together, I'll update everyone when the actual short (about 14 mins) will officially be released and where it will be playing.

Its light on story, but heavy on artsy-fartsy visuals- what do you expect from a comic book guys first film?:)
See the trailer here:

Wow. Looks great (or as great as digi DV25 411 24p on FCP can look over the internet  *). One comment: After watching the trailer I have no idea what the movie is about, But I may just be extraordinarily dense... but it looks great. :D

*note: I am such a video snob. Sorry.

No sweat- I didnt try and do a story for the trailer- frankly the movie is a little light in the story department, but I think it still works as a art film
If you read the book, it will be really clear though.

More of a teaser than a trailer... It needs a voice over:

When does a dream become reality? How do you know what is real when you can't trust your own mind? Find out when madness and dreams collide in: SIX. This film not yet rated.

We are following this up with another short, a much shorter short, taking the lessons from SIx and the next thing, I'll shoot something bigger after.

We shot with a Cannon XL1 and edited on Final Cut Pro. My buddy james who did those other shorts like Monkey Walken and Wonderman did all the tech work.

Wow. That is really cool! I would see/ buy that in a heart beat. You can kind of tell it's done by a comic artist. The shots/angles are all very reminiscent of comics. When will this be available in it's entirity? I WANT MORE!

Nice. I saw part of this at Megacon and it's great to see an actual trailer for it. I can't wait to see the entire thing when you make it available. I know it'll kick as much ass as the fighting sequences do.

You guys will love the actual film. Even if Mike did take out his little cameo. ;)

Seriously though, the movie kicks ass.
And, the DaGetHighKnight, I loved the music. :)

I would love it more if six felt more complete in comic form. I guess there wasn't supposed to be a six sequel. :(

that's good I was buying alot of your stuff recently but it felt like you were just putting out a wide range of product and then leaving it, which worked for some stuff but not so much for projects like six. I'm probably in the minority but i how i feel but thats how it goes. I'm very glad another six is coming out! :D

Wow! Where did you find those martial artists? That looks awesome for a film of its budget. Usually people have to totally fake martial arts in low budget flicks, so it looks awful.
Is it okay to use the music you've picked?
