I will preface this with a brief history of how I found out about this book. I read Willworld, the Green Lantern graphic novel, and thoroughly enjoyed it (the art more than the story, since Seth Fisher is amazing, but it was solid all-around). As I sometimes do after reading something I liked, I went on Amazon to read reviews by other people. In one particularly positive review, someone mentioned another very high-quality book (in terms of art, at least): it was a Doctor Strange GN by P. Craig Russell. I thought this sounded interesting, so I went to the CBDB to check it out, and sure enough it was written by our man Marc, of whom I was already quite a fan. I thought that such a coincidence all-but-necessitated my purchase of it, but I thought I'd come here and see if anyone knows anything about it, or better yet, can tell me if it was indeed as good as its credit would imply.

I even emailed Randy at The Fourth Rail, since I've read over the years many positive reviews of Marc's work, so I thought maybe he'd know about it, being a fellow Andreyko-enthusiast. He wrote back only to say that he vaguely remembered it, but not much more (which was actually really cool of him to do, I thought)

So if anyone has any information or reviews of this, feel free.

EDIT: I forgot to include this, but just some additional information:
- it evidently came out in October of 1997
- as I said above was written by Marc and drawn by P. Craig Russell
- it was 52 pages
- the cover price was $5.99.

craig talks about the book in a very intersting podcast documentary that chronicles his career. here's the site...

I wish I had read it before my mp3 interview with Marc, but I'm sure he'd do another when a new project comes up.

Hey, thanks a lot. I really enjoyed that interview of yours--it was my introduction to Word Balloon, and I haven't looked back since ;)

I've heard a lot of people talk about this as one of the best Dr. Strange stories of recent times. I myself don't actually know anything about it, though.

The title is fantastic though, and may or may not justly conjure up some pretty quirky expectations.

I'd buy it, but eBay makes me uncomfortable. Nevertheless, if I ever manage to acquire it, I will report back.

Hopefully I'll be able to get over my apprehension, since I want this and Vertigo Pop! Tokyo "sum'in fierce"
