Comic Internships

I've heard that this can be a good experience if one is contemplating entering the business, but I was wondering if anyone here has ever done it. Any success stories? Horrror stories? I'm considering this myself after I graduate and was wondering if it was really worth it.

Most internships are just free labor for the employer, consisting of menial tasks nobody else wants to bother with.

I doubt the comics industry is any different.

My pal and former co-worker at Page32.net was able to turn his work there into an internship with Viper Comics this past year. He's supposedly having a good experience with it.
