In the current work environment I'm in it is just impossible to mess around. not even internet or emails are allowed except on break.

When I worked in retail, I used to just walk around with a step stool. It made me look busy. When I worked with kids, we'd play a lot of games in class. Working with college students, you don't get to screw around because it's entertaining enough that you don't want to.
