Agreed, it remains my desktop and I'm still considering getting a banner made to hang up in my room.

What's up with you and that 50 cover? I can't win you over with my latest work? What about the Decalogue covers? What about the latest ones in paint?

Dude your Decalouge's are clearly fantastic work. 57, and 68 are really profound as they are some of the ones that have pulled me to the title and keep me hooked each month. I mean I love the fact the solicits are unaltered with titles as I feel they take away from some of the covers. The list of your fantastic work islong, and I was just curious as to if others had a similar reaction to your work. I had never seen issue 50 and I must say ... if it came in poster form Id buy it. Mind you if your art came in canvas form id hang it my living room. As for the Decalouge favs thou shall not kill and steal are probably my favs. I think im done stroking ego and praising the talented for now, please keep posting Im really interested in the opinions of others.

It's not about technique or how well it is done or anything like that. That cover just represents everything that I love about the book!
If I ignore that one then I really like 57 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2057.jpg), 59 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2059.jpg), 66 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2066.jpg), 68 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2068.jpg), 74 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2074.jpg) and I think 77 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2077.jpg) is in there as well. It's all about the emotional respronse they create. For example 69 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2069.jpg) was on my desktop for a long time because it is just so damn beautiful. Still I wouldn't call it a favourite because it doesn't stir anything up in me. On the other hand I didn't even like 68 (http://www.sailorgalleries.com/bb/maleev/art/covers/DD/Daredevil_2068.jpg) at first and it never made it onto my desktop. Still, it is one of my favourites cause... erm... well... it just works!
Know what I mean?

Issue #49 holds a very special place in my heart because it was the first Maleev I had ever seen, and the issue was one of the things that got me back into comics for the first time since I was 10.

There's no cover I didn't enjoy (and with every new cover Alex is outdoing himself), but one of my all time favorites will remain the silent December issue, where DD stands looking at us and in one hand he's holding a message by Elektra. Sorry, I can't remember the number, but if I recall it was Alex' and Brian's third or fourth issue, so it should be either #28 or #29.

It actually did. It's done on paper with ink and acrylics.

I loved katana one, but there are a few things I don't get. Why is the sun all digitally, instead of round. It looks like blown up clip art and kinda ruins it. And although the text looks cool, what it actually says is pretty corny "yakuza, yakuza" and verticle "daredevil" well, it does kind of sound like a movie poster.. anyway, the drawing and white background with red sun kick ass. Really awesome.
#50, is a great piece. the pose tells so much about the character. i love it.
Maleev's digital painting is blowing me away. I'm digging the new covers which we saw previews of.
I think 57, though, is one of the best covers ever. Just wish it didn't have that text (hint, make a print of this, remove the text on DD, replace the yakuza yakuza with dea-debiru, and fix the sun, sell as posters $$)

I know what you mean! It is not my favourite cover, but it is one of my favourite images alltogether. It inspired me a lot and so I made my first ever DD wallpaper. I haven't made a better one since...
Here is the wallpaper (click to enlarge):
(I really should transfer some of those Maleev wallpapers I made to Maleev.net...)

Show love Denny, 57's all yours but that sucker has a home in my modern art gallery.... above my couch... to piss off my roomate.

.
That's an amazing image. Where has it been? It's not in the regular Daredevils.. Reminds me of Marc-Antoine Mathieu's comics.
Another thing: I think the Daredevil logo is quite daft, especially with MAleev's pictures...Hope he woulda organized times and times ago to re-new it.
Also I don't like the graphic design of the trades at all... the big Marvel at the side-sleeve is awful too...
