Wow. Discovery channel has some fucking up close footage of a shark bite. Gives a really good look at what happens. And it shows the aftermath, in graphic detail. There is a bit of shock value to this, but that's not why I'm posting it. It's truly fascinating. It's a leg bite, nobody loses a head or anything, but it's still GRAPHIC. I'm pretty sure I can post this, especially since it's from Discovery channel. If I can't, delete it and I apologize.
REMEMBER: GRAPHIC

Is this the clip with the two guys standing amid tiger sharks? Because, you know, this is why you stand amid tiger sharks.

"Hey, cameraman? How about a little help here? No? You're just gonna keep filming while a shark bites the hell out of me, and these guys get me on the ship? Oh, okay."
Sometimes I find documentary footage absolutely ridiculous.

As silly as this was, Mythbusters has Jamie underwater, baiting sharks with chum for a close enough approach so HE CAN PUNCH THEM. After a few minutes of shock, one roots for the sharks.

Did you see the end of the video, when they're getting ready to load him on the boat? That's close enough of a man's calf having been shark food for me.

Although not real...the shark attack aftermath scene in The Beach is extremely graphic and realistic looking.

Holy mother of God, i've never seen anything like that! That's got to be a combination of the most stupid thing i've ever seen done, and the most gruesome thing i've ever seen.

In two tests -- one featuring a boxing dummy and the other featuring a punching person -- the sharks didn't demonstrate any aggravation, but they did continue to swarm around the bait. There wan't anything conclusive to show that punching a shark will stun him enough to let you go. If anything, they're so determined to get the food that you'd have to punch them hard over and over to make them go away.

Rough.
Also, I hear punching/kicking a shark does work sometimes, but it has to be in the nose. Has something to do with there a lot of nerve endings or some such in that area.
