They even did this on Sportscenter! Frickin' Sportscenter! The network which isn't showing the event until november. How do they expect people to watch, knowing who wins. All suspense is lifted.

Those are the preliminary events the main event doesn't conclude on ESPN until November.

yeah, but that's not the main event that's going to be shown then. the world series is actually a whole bunch of tournies culminating in the main event which was just finished.
the show coming up is of a tourney from a while back.

No, it's the start of the month long wsop series of events, just like last year. It'll take em a while to show them all, yah, but they sure as heck ain't gonna show em live, that would kill poker so fast it wouldn't be funny.

ESPN.com's got the winner's name in their article title, too.

FSN recently showed a live event. If produced well, it can be just as interesting. ESPN would have to dedicate an entires day programming but they could pull it off.

I used to go through thatwith european boxing matches that were replayed on tape delay in the US.
I'd purposley avoid looking at the news wires, then some jerk who knew I was a fight fan thinking I'd want to know, would come up to me witrh a printed copy of the results "HEY MAN BIG NEWS!"
GRRRRRR...

Why do you think that? I've liked FSN's live broadcasts.
