Why is Bendis such a big fan of Spider-Woman. I don't remember her being such a great character. Is she really that interesting of a character that she deserves all this attention? She seems to have a convoluted origin, her powers seem confusing, and there's no real relation to Spider-Man.
Sell me on Spider-Woman being cool, before Bendis wrote her.

Maybe he was struck by her photo cover. I know I was.

Or, he likes the way she dances:

Heh.
I remember that one.
She was at her best in Avengers Annual #10 with the lovely lovely Michael Golden art.

My inner X-Men fanatic likes that issue for several reasons: Rogue, Marvel, Maddy Pryor, etc.

Yep.
A true classic from that time.

It's a Photo cover? I can't tell, thumbnail is too small.
Was Spider-Woman a good series?

Yeah, Eliot Brown did some photo covers for Marvel, and this was the best of the bunch. I'm not having any luck finding a larger version online, and I can't scan my copy here at work.

A Marvel character who has a convoluted origin?!? You don't say.
Her TV show sucked on ice, as did her early series. I don't think she started to get cool until after she retired and became a PI. She was pretty badass in the first issues of Wolverine's regular series.

Read New Avengers. She's cool there, so who cares about before.

i believe bendis has mentioned avengers annual #10, which features spider-woman prominently but is also as known for rogue's first app, as one of his favorite comics of all time or something like that...

Then you've never read Avengers Annual #10.
