Hey Rais, just a quickie question. But what is your opinion on that Wolverine cover? What's the controversy?

Implied sexual assault?

Women tend not to be fans of the implication. Particularly since the percentage of women who are sexually assaulted or raped is really high.

It's an area that can be explored if treated carefully. This, though, is just a throwaway cover. Out of the thousands of ways they could show that the brood are infecting Kitty, that's a pretty dumb one to choose.

Er... so no, not a fan.

Ever since I saw that Death and Return of Superman video from Max Landis I've been building up an idea of what I'd like to see in a Superman comic if I got the chance to write superman.

How has Superman been since the Flahspoint reboot?
what's the difference between Superman and Action Comics?

Action Comics is set five years ago, at the dawn of Superman's career. Superman is set in the present day.

They're both pretty good, although Superman is getting a creative change soon.

Didn't realize that The War That Time Forgot was going to be the main feature in in G.I. Combat, and that Unknown Soldier and Haunted Tank are just rotating back-ups. The last two seem way meatier properties to me. Hell, I kinda thought it would be cool if all three just got a third of the book in an ongoing way, with only short chapters every month.

Distribution costs are a bear. And print costs for the larger companies were never all that much. Paper hasn't gone up in cost that much over the years. The costs inferred are mainly due to production and creator costs. Fans just got it in their head that comics and books costs a lot because of paper. Granted the big two did nothing to dissuade them from believing it.

This was close to my guess, although I had #2 and #4 reversed. Green Lantern is still Johns' best book, for my money.

#1 is probably #1 on almost everyone's list. I'd argue it's the best comic on the stands right now.

It might be the best Batman monthly ever (as long as you don't count "Year One" as a monthly.)

Apparently that's not cool downstairs. Funny about that.
One person said they didn't like it, the rest being neutral or positive. Seriously, you're going to run back here to complain because one person dislikes something (And with a decent enough reasoning)?

Oh boy about two of them.

I'm kind of curious as to if we'll ever see Roxy again.

I'm sure that by the end of this universe and in time for the new revamp we'll have at least 4 more.

Can he really go up? Really? Are we sure about that?

She's worn closed costumes before, but her "classic" look with the window is pretty awesome. I'm going to miss it, but I'm thankful I do have the previous volume. I shall prize it.

I feel the exact opposite, to be honest. Outside of the editors not catching some small stuff like Nick Fury being underground and SHIELD being run by Maria Hill at the time, I think those arcs are far stronger on a re-read than Extremis. Extremis is a decent read, but that's about as far as I'd go.

I already read Thief of Thieves #1 & Last of the Greats #5 last week and both were fantastic. For this week's other books, Demon Knights is pretty fun, Grifter had lots of action, Buffy was neat, Atomic Robo had some great chuckles. I read Snake Eyes to realize that IDW is making me buy comics I don't really like to not really get much more of the story from Cobra (which I love).

And Powers came out. Finally. 28 pages (29 if you count the guy who peed the cast as the first page) for $3.95. Good deal, but the comic after all of this time off just felt...ok?

Kind of a blah week.

I don't know...the show used to deal with some similar (and controversial) topics. This seems to be in line with that...and I'm sure the last page isn't really indicative of what is really going to end up happening.

I forgot to get Thief of Thieves. What was it like?
A solid setup for an intrigue-based thriller, akin to a spy story. There's a good dynamic with the main characters and I can see the roles that both Kirkman and Spencer have already played in developing the story. I'm in for the long haul.

Where were you when Batman died was displaced in time for our sins? Or when the Legion was found? Or when the Martian Manhunter was killed? Or when evil won?

We all had a journey of our own to reach in a world where it was raining blood, and the Speed Force was turned upside down. Now I'd you'll excuse me...

Yeah, don't pay Ray any mind. He just got back from a Santorum rally.

(I realize this "joke" will be lost on you since you don't live in the U.S. I'd tell you to Google Rick Santorum's name but I think that what you find would concern you even more.)
I'm good as is

:)

I actually think it was a pretty well-written issue overall. This volume of Buffy has just been leagues above the previous one.

That's encouraging

Season 8 I enjoyed at the start....by the end though....

I need to get a comic for a 11 year old girl's birthday. Her mom said she wants to read comics about real people and already reads some superhero books. Do you guys have any suggestions? Would New York Four be age appropriate?

I read New York Four a few days ago. I'd recommend the Local hardcover (http://www.amazon.com/Local-Brian-Wood/dp/193496400X/) over New York Four, because it's the stronger, more involving story and I guess she'll return to it more often.

A loooong time ago. Punisher is one of the few characters that I just can't get into not matter how good the book is. Sorkin could be writing with Charest on art, and it'd be a miracle if I lasted past two arcs. Rucka might be my favorite writer in comics, but if he doesn't do something to hook me soon, I doubt I'll stick with the current book much longer.

Last issue right?

How did it end up?

Frank died of his injuries after killing the Kingpin, at 65 years old. The last issue was Nick Fury tying up loose ends, killing Kingpin's wife (who was involved in Frank's death), and saying goodbye to his old friend. The ending had Nick mourning that Frank's life was pretty much pointless, until he saw angry mobs in Punisher apparel around the city, taking justice into their own hands, and realized that Frank's message had been heard.

Ah I know people kind of wanted the Ennis run to end a similar way

I wonder if Marvel will do 2-3 Omni's collecting all of Ennis and Aaron now

I bought a couple Sandman and Hellblazer collections and they hold up well. But with perfect binding it always depends on how carefully you handle them. If the cover isn't as flexible as the paper used, they tend to fall apart easier.

Of paperbacks in recent years, the main criticism I hear is that the paper is too thin.

Looks good. I'm glad to hear it's a scary film. I've never seen a Hammer film, but I'll be glad to make it my first. I know Radcliffe is a theater actor with great chops, but I wasn't sure if he'd able to convicingly play a widower.
