Skylanders Spyro's Adventures Wii or XBox 360? Is there a difference?

I'm not a gamer.

Are the character pieces compatible for both Wii and Xbox 360? Only the disc format is different?

Is there a difference between the game depending on the platform?

My son plays Mario on the Wii; I'm thinking I should go that route since he knows how to use the controller.

If your son is familiar with the Wii remote, go with that.

The beautiful thing about this game is that those game pieces can be used across platforms. If you buy the Wii version for your son and he saves his character info on the toy, he can take it to his friend's house and play with it on the friend's Wii/360/PS3. My concern is I'm the completist and will want to "catch them all."

IGN has warned parents: this is the kind of game where kids are going to constantly want to "catch 'em all," and, unlike Pokemon, this game will cost them to do so.

But, apparently, it's a pretty fun game, despite the gimmick. I won't lie, the kid in me is very intrigued by it.

So my son got the Skylanders Spyro Adventures game this past Christmas. I'd bought it LAST Christmas, but he'd had enough stuff so was going to give it to him for his birthday, but the Wii broke and I had to get it fixed and that seemed like a lame gift to give if he couldn't play it.

Well, Jackson loves playing the game and Lincoln loves playing with the toys.

And guess what...HE WANTS THEM ALL. *sigh The problem with that is now the Giants game is out, they've moved on to a Series 2 and 3 line of figures and Series 1 is being blown out at Toys R Us and not even carried at Wal-Mart, Target, Sam's etc so after getting what I could from Toys R Us I hit Amazon and eBay.

ADVENTURE PACKS that expand the game...oh they got parents good with this one! Those crafty, clever game makers.

So Lincoln's birthday is Sunday so I got him the "fire" guy (Eruptor) and giving him a carrying case that comes with Wham Shell. I've tracked down all, but BOOMER. And he's not gotten a Series 2 or 3 figure so he's going for a premium.

IF anyone finds him or can get him for less than $25 buy it and I will reimburse (doubt you will, but hey maybe someone hear gets lucky and walks into a store not knowing what they have).

Ahhhhhh! Ninjini is out?!?!? Wasn't expecting her 'til April. I just finally found Eyebrawl and Thumpback 3 weeks ago.

I have a feeling they'll start hitting the shelves so I'd just be patient and keep an eye out.

Because all of the previously "hard to find" Giants: Thumpback, Eyebrawl are at Best Buy, Toys R Us, Target, Wal Mart, etc.

I also just pre-ordered the Molten Hot Dog Wal Mart Exclusive.

Had struck out at Toys R Us and figured there was no chance Target had them and it just randomly happened to be there. I hope they eventually release Punch Pop Fizz as an individual figure because I really don't want to buy a full 3DS starter kit just for that version of Pop Fizz. Funny part is I don't even buy these for myself. I'm helping the son of my brother's roommate.

My mom and sister are buying my oldest the 3DS for his birthday so I thought I might buy the 3DS Starter to get the Punch Pop Fizz and Glow in the Dark Cynder.

A little bummed out. Wal Mart showed the exclusive red drill sergeant as available online for store pick-up for $8.96. I jumped on it and about 5 hours later it was cancelled because it wasn't available. I was excited because the cheapest I've found this one for is $15.

I also heard about a Target Exclusive Jade Flashwing Skylander. Supposed to be available 3/17, but they've been hitting store shelves already.

That's awesome. I actually ended up doing a review for Skylanders: Giants for Nintendojo. It was one of those games I had fun with, but wished I was playing it as a kid. Just seemed like something I would have totally fallen in love with if I was younger.

The novelty is in the toys and what they add to the gameplay. Otherwise, it would just be a pretty decent dungeon crawler type game, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance or X-Men Legends.

Since my family is buying Jackson the 3DS I picked up the Skylanders Giants Wal-Mart exclusive starter pack with Glow in the Dark Cynder and Punch Pop Fizz.

Also just ordered off Toys R Us their exclusive Legendary Light Core Chill for in store pick up.

Hex is in transit, I'd ordered through Wal-Mart online for in store shipping because I was actually wanting to buy their exclusive Red Drill Sergeant, but that part of the order was canceled three hours later.

Next time I'm on a Ninjini check I'll see if he's there. I'm fairly certain I've seen him around here. I assume you mean the Series 2 version? I don't think he's a Lightcore.

We've been a big Skylander family. Have played and beaten both games and play the mobile games too (Sky Patrol and Lost Islands). We have like 55 figures (ugh). But here's the problem... Disney Infinity. Long story short Disney Infinity is a similar game and we are an even bigger Disney family.

I'm wondering when they will release the final Skylanders Giants Light Core figures: Hex, Pop Fizz, and Chill.

Also still need to get the boys the Giants version of Drobot.

When I went to C2E2 I gave my boys some Skylanders. Lincoln was super excited to get the Giants version of WRECKING BALL.

By the time I got home, he lost it. It's still MIA and sadly I haven't seen one in the stores since. :(

And still no signs of Lightcore Hex, Chill, and Pop Fizz or regular Giants edition of Drobot.

I just got the Giants starter for my son. Man... this is a fun game. We've already gone out and purchased a bunch of figures. This game is going to bleed me dry.
