Just finished Shield Season 3

Man, I really love this show. It's a lot like Alias in that it has large continuing story arcs. Not much to delineate seasons 1-3

When is season 4 hitting DVD? Is it good?

I think its dropping in the next couple of months. Glen Close is amazing in Season 4. It really continued to prove why FX is the best cable network.

PS When this show is on, it's the best show on TV. During the summer its BSG, of course. In the fall, I dunno.

Season 4 just ended a little bit ago, so I doubt it will be hitting DVD until January at the earliest. FX will probably rerun the season after Rescue Me finishes its season.

In terms of quality, season 4 is terrific. There were some who though season 3 was disappointing, but I have heard nothing but good things about season 4. There are some new actors in season 4 that just give blockbuster performances, and the character interaction just keep getting stronger.

My room mate in Boston is a part time cop, and we'd always make fun of him for watching Lifetime, Oxygen, or some other women's channel whenever Glen Close came on-screen. He's an angry northerner, so we always got a good rise out of him.

My girlfriend loves this show. Perhaps I will be a good boyfriend and buy her the boxed sets...and then watch them myself.

We're airing on free-to-air midway through season 3.

I couldn't tell you why, but this is one show where the ball has been absolutely dropped. It went from "crime time Sunday's" Monk, Criminal Intent, The Shield, NYPD Blue/Dragnet LA, to off air, to late, to Wednesday nights at 10:30/11:00.

Monk and the Shield either didn't take off terribly well down here (which would be disgraceful), or have just been horribly mismanaged. :?

After Rescue me is done Nip/Tuck will start. FX is really making something out of Tuesday nights.

And yeah, season 4 was the BALLS.

One thing I have noticed, with FX making the season 15 instead of 13 episodes, the first couple of episodes seem to be a little thin, but then kick into high gear around episode 3 or 4.
