I just got a copy of Hellboy: Weird Tales Volume 1, and was pleasantly surprised to find a story drawn and written by Alex Maleev (with help by Matt Hollingsworth). Among other things the story features a creepy prototype for the demon baby of the Daredevil Decalogue story, and a strange army of grim reapers (see the cover desing below). The volume itself included fun stories from creators I know like John Cassady, Joe Casey, and Andi Watson, and creators I've never heard of before like Seung Kim, Mark Rickets, and Erik Wight. My chief complaint is the price ($17.95 for 4 issues worth of content, although I'm sure it's easy to find a discount).

Maleev's story "Stillborn" was the cover story of the third issue.
