Could be pretty good. I do wish it was a MAX title...

He did a pretty bad-ass Wolverine and it wasn't a MAX title, I have faith.

Not a huge Punisher fan, but CHECCHETTO's art looks incredible. That dude keeps getting better and better. I might have to pick up issue 1.

Nice to see Detective Somerset come out of retirement for this.

Wasn't sure what exactly Rucka was gonna do with Punisher in the the main Marvel U, but brilliant idea having him face off against the new Vulture.

Written by GREG RUCKA
Penciled by MARCO CHECCHETTO
Cover by BRYAN HITCH

Award winning novelist GREG RUCKA continues his violent and visionary return to Marvel. Even 10,000 feet above New York, no one escapes the Punisher. As Frank trails the criminal underbelly of the city, he encounters the deadly, mob created villain: THE VULTURE for a brutal battle against death and gravity. Meanwhile as NYPD detectives get closer to understanding Frank Castle's new relationship, one of New York's finest is struggling keep his own Punisher association untraceable.

Finally had the chance to check out Punisher #1 It's a great book! Rucka and Checchetto makes it feel like it could exist in the MAX universe.

I also wonder why Frank let the guy go at the end. Guess we'll find out soon.

Nice to see Detective Somerset come out of retirement for this.

My thoughts exactly!

He wrote a couple Black Widow minis I think.

This was an excellent take on Punisher. Definately has a Gotham Central feel to it but I love how he's writing the book so far.

Love his take on Frank so far.

I read the first issue and while I liked it, I don't see adding it to my pull list since I'm in the process of cutting it down.

It was excellent. I like how he's showing everyone else's view of Frank, rather than Frank's view of himself.

I found the storytelling in the first few pages far from intuitive and didn't warm to the issue much afterward. I might give it a re-read to see if opinion changes, but my immediate reaction was, "Not the take I'm looking for."

He really has opened up a new dimension with his take on the Punisher's motivation. Especially the stuff right before the shooting. Just incredible.
I thought that all that could be said about this character had been said. Boy was I fucking wrong.
This is top-of-the-pile good.

So I've heard, though never got a chance to read, but I loved his work on Wonder Woman and Batman, I want him to write more black widow.
