So I guess Tracy is having his Michael Richards moment.

But come on, this is Tracy Morgan. That's not a "role" he's playing on 30 Rock. That's really him. Should we really be surprised he believes crazy nonsense?

I would think crazy nonsense would be okay, but rampant, blatant homophobia? Like, near murderous homophobia? Not as cool as crazy nonsense.

If this is all true of course.

Parade, WTF?

So in the mid-90s when Batman: The Animated Series was running, I was crazy into it. Was majoring in art and very influenced by Bruce Timm's style, and also reading (and loving) the comic DC had based on it. Mike Parobeck art, very awesome.

Anyway, one day in the comic there was a notice on the letters page that the cartoon was likely to be cancelled. BUT...they listed a Warner Bros. address where fans could write in to try and save it. So I did! And here's the coolest fucking thing: the show actually did get saved and went on to another season or two as The Adventures of Batman & Robin.

But that's not where the story ends. See, several months later, I got an envelope in the mail. Within: an 8x10 glossy of the Animated Series logo (Batman in front of the red sun, as per your image) that read:

"Thanks Dave!

-Batman"

I should note that "Dave" is the stage name I go by when I don't want to be mobbed by crowds of Hodag fans. I should also note that Warner Bros. probably thought all the people who wrote in to save the show were kids. Kids who might actually believe Batman had sent them a signed photo.

In fact, there were more than a few adults who'd believe it as well. I still treasure my personal connection to the Dark Knight, and I still use his signature to occasionally forge his name on checks.

Tracy Morgan issued a statement to The Huffington Post through his representative:

“I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville. I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”

I don't see what is so wrong about what he said.

I remember vividly the day when I chose to be heterosexual. It was like the Robert Frost poem about that day "The Road Not Taken".

I chose the one more traveled by while other people opt to burn in hell, lose friends, be alienated by family, have Tracy Morgan rail about their whining, etc.

It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo obviously a choice. I mean its just like people CHOSE to be slaves. They could have said at any point "I don't want to do this" and that would have been that. But nooooo we get people whining. So sad.
