Not that there's any reason to be serious here, but here goes:

X-Men came out in 2000. In 2000, Halle Berry was 33. In 2000, Grace Jones was 52. Halle Berry was of an age similar to her co-stars - Famke Jannsen was 35, Hugh Jackman was 31, James Marsden was a youngun at 26, and Rebecca Romjin was 27.

Grace Jones would have been closer in age to Patrick Stewart at 59.

Now, we can argue all day whether Halle Berry was the best joice for Storm.

Personally, I think Angela Bassett might have made a more regal Storm.

But Grace Jones would not have fit with the cast or with the dynamic they were going for.

I think of Storm as thinner and lankier. But that is a pretty girl. It says she's a singer in the link, but even if she has no experience she can't possibly be a worse actor than Halle Berry.

It's strange. her mother is established as being from Kenya, Storm was born in Harlem but she lived in Egypt so either one does seem to fit.

You guys are both right. Storm is a bit of a cultural mutt, but since she did grow up and spend her formative years in Africa, I think she should have a convincing African accent and way about her.

Also, to stay relevant to the thread, Grace Jones is a scary woman. Hell, they cast her as an originally male character in Conan the Barbarian!
