Wade should go back to the blazer and rose. Then he can leave the rose behind on his fallen opponent.
He's a real life Street Fighter character.

Would make sense if he loses the case.
Or he could turn heel by cashing in on a decimated baby face champion.

RE: best themes
'Taker's early Ministry theme was so rad (the summer '98 versio).

Triple H's '99 heel turn theme:

D'lo's '99 solo face run theme:

The Rock's first theme after usurping Farooq and taking control of the Nation (lasted until the Fall of '98):

Rey's WCW theme:

Kidman's WCW theme after the Flock's demise in '98:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HvvLEkl1JY
Yeah, what I'm saying is, '98-'99 was great for themes.
I think WCW either licensed a lot of their best themes (Kidman, Rey, Benoit) because I recall hearing many of them in several commercials over the years. I distictly recall hearing Benoit's WCW theme in a Chevy truck commercial around that time.

Triple H is boring.
True, but I can totally see him pulling off a great disengenuous "I'm only thinking of the fans and the company" type of thing before transitioning fully into a heel persona again. And all Punk has to respond with to The Hs little rant is "Really? What about all of the title defenses you weaseled out of? At least I was honest about it."
Also, on the subject of theme songs, Triple H should switch to this song once he turns fully heel and is pretty much doing promos and acting as a McMahon every week. His current song works well for his matches and stuff, but I really don't see him walking out in a suit every week and still spitting water at everyone.

CM Punk invaded Comic-Con, mocking Triple H and WWE
July 22, 2011
It seems that the de facto holder of the WWE Championship and former WWE Superstar CM Punk is not done poking a stick at his previous place of business
Thursday morning, during Mattel's WWE panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, the ex-WWE Superstar reemerged with the WWE Title still in his possession, strolling into a conference room where Triple H, Hall of Famer Bret “Him Man” Hart and Rey Mysterio were answering questions.
Punk promptly began to ridicule Triple H – the very Superstar and WWE executive who recently relieved Mr. McMahon of his leadership duties as WWE Chairman on Monday Night Raw.
Punk's mocking led to an intense verbal confrontation between Punk and Triple H. When Punk asked the subject of his scorn, “how’s life in Fantasy Land?” Triple H responded, “how’s the unemployment line?”
Addressing Rey Mysterio about WWE’s match this Monday night on Raw to crowd a new WWE Champion, Punk invited The Master of the 619 to Chicago anytime that he wants a title opportunity.
Triple H tried to maintain his professional decorum. After pointing out that “a champion performs,” he informed Punk that “it is a new regime” in WWE, inviting Punk to “give [him] a call and maybe [they] could work something out.”
In the end, the self-exiled Punk left as swiftly as he emerged, brandishing the WWE Championship as he went.
The new head of WWE continued to address the situation after the disruption was over, commenting that he was astounded that the WWE Universe continued to cheer for Punk while Punk was refusing to perform for them. He pointed out that that was what true WWE Champions had been doing “day in and day out” throughout the history of WWE.
This public interruption came on the heels of the monumental events of Sunday, July 17 at Money in the Bank pay-per-view. There, The Second City Saint stunned the WWE Universe by defeating John Cena, exiting through the crowd and leaving the company without its most coveted title.
Late Friday night, WWE.com was granted permission by WWE executives to show footage of Punk's interruption, caught by WWE cameras during the Comic-Con Q & A.

So, either Daniel Bryan somehow loses the case between now and April, or he gets a monster push and develops into a threat along the way.
The Briefcase shouldn't be something to win or lose. Doing so would relegate it to secondary title status (and yeah, I know, the Mr. Kennedy/Edge thing). The primary appeal of the briefcase is the idea that the holder will most likely win the title at an unknown date, or at the very least, gain entry into the main-event title mix at some point. There's a great deal of tension and the promise of someone new being elevated. If they rob the briefcase of its premise - that being the holder will be the one to cash-in - it'll no longer be a big deal when someone wins, especially someone from the midcard. We'll all be waiting for the day when, say, Kofi wins it, and they lose faith in his push, thus booking him to lose it to someone else.

I agree, and I'll also add that the only reason they had Kennedy put the briefcase (containing the contract) on the line against Edge (only to lose it) was because Kennedy was injured.

Right, it was a decision based on necessity. That's the only reason a briefcase should be transferred from a holder to another wrestler. They should treat it with reverence (and really, the briefcase means more than any title save the WWE Title and, I guess, the World Heavyweight Championship).

I think it's 50/50. Almost leaning towards No because it's their first TV taping and I think they want to distance themselves from WWE and show that they truly are an alternative and it wouldn't air until September 24 at the earliest. But if he's just there to put over their product, and it doesn't necessarily have to air on their TV.

Dude's got a great package and all Vince/co would see is a husky, Samoan savage.
Regardless, from everything he's said since retiring, and considering every star he's endorsed in that time, it's a shame Austin's not among the key personnel guiding the company.

The usos had somethign good going between them and slater and gabriel before that got dropped due to gabriel's face turn.
There is no reason that the usos should not be tag champs. They work better as faces for some reason. As heels they were just ...there, but as faces they have more energy and can easily get a crowd behind them.

That introductory gimmick (that lasted all of two weeks) where the Usos rejected being typcasted and subverted the whole savage Samoan thing was pretty cool. The whole proposed "hip hop dynasty/Russel Simmons family" vibe could've been cool. They would've been easy to boo (elite, aristocratic 3rd gen wrestlers) and, when the time came, easy to cheer (youthful/cool fashion, articulate, fun spots like the double dropkick and their splashes, the dancing).
The Harts, in retrospect, were boring as fuck.
Masculine Todd
07-24-2011, 08:54 AM
They could easily have a decent tag division. There's so many dudes just wallowing in houseshow/Superstars/dark match hell who could contribute/experience rejuvenation by being half of a duo. Get your big muscely guy/small flier team, get your 3rd gen team, pair a promising young guy with a relatively over veteran, couple two indomitable bruisers, and create a novelty team of surfers or rednecks or cowboys or goths or something. Boom.
Usos (3rd gen), Drew and Evan Bourne (big guy/little guy who, initially, are reluctant, mistrusting partners who team out of mutual enemies, but grow a mutual respect for one another), maybe Regal and Baretta (midcard veteran who can talk with a promising young dude), Chris Masters and Tyler Reks (two hulking monsters), Husky and [some repurposed dude] (gimmick-oriented cowboy/brawling redneck team), Koslov and Santino (novelty comedy duo).

5. Alex Riley beat Miz. He's in the discussion now.
I could try to explain how I would've booked Miz after his feud with Cena, but it's based on "IF WWE took it's tag division seriously" and "IF wins & losses mattered" and those are two pretty big IFs.

Yeah, but wins and loses don't really matter, unless they happen with great frequency; Miz is already back to title contention, having beaten two dudes in one night and advancing to a WWE Title match tomorrow against the most over face who isn't Cena or Orton.
If they put the belt on Riley right now, at his current level of overness and character development, he'd flop. It's essentially Cena, Randy, Miz and Rey. Christian (in this current incarnation) couldn't carry a brand, nor could Riley.
I don't know. Morrison's probably the only prospective babyface who's at the level of fan acceptance, and has the spots and precedence to potentially be a ratings/business stabilizing (note: probably not anything above 'stabilizing,' if that) champion, and even that would take a bit of work.

The major broskis as well.
And the luchador tag team in fcw could be brought up.
Nah. The non-Zack Ryder Edgehead's shown nothing. He's bland. Ryder has too much personality to be bogged down by a boring dude, unless that boring dude can get over in the ring (and from every indicator, not-Ryder isn't that guy).

I am wondering something else now. If wwe wants a new luchador who can replace rey once he retires why not the luchador known as incognito? He has good moves, can speak english and cut promos, doesnt botch, and one other thing..........He has been languishing in FCW under the name hunico for over 2 years at least now. Its time to bring him up to the main roster.

I just hate the whole mentality of, "We'll job out Miz to Riley, but to make it up to him we'll give him a title shot (maybe even put the belt on him)." It just devalues the title so much, the very title they're hoping will give credibility to the guy they just jobber out for the past few months.

Yeah, but when has that dude ever done anything to emote or whatever? Take Trent Baretta, for the sake of argument. That dude's never been given a shot, and he's merely enhancement talent. However, he's developed some entertaining spots to generate fan reaction, as part of the Dudebusters, he had that retarded arm thing, he flashes a cocky smile, etc. Even if buried beneath the ton of sludge that was "Edge Acolyte," you can show some fire on comebacks or have a few mannerisms that hint at some burgeoning charisma/personality.
Dude never showed it. It was so glaringly obvious when he had that two week dalliance with Ryder on Superstars a few months back. One guy was entertaining, even without getting promo time, and the other was dead weight.

I feel as if fans often overlook how incredibly dull that period between, say, the early '03 neck injury and the Matt Hardy feud in '05 was for Edge. He was such a goony dude, and they gave him the Billy Gunn "biannual upper-midcard push" with much greater frequency. Even worse, he had that cloying, generic "lame joke" face gimmick. It was this weird hybrid of 'cool dude' and 'proto-current Cena.'
He'd throw out hackneyed 'chill bro' lines, jaunt down to the ring with shitty Rob Zombie theme music and play up this pseudo-rave kid shtick, and it was so contrived and boring. I mean, yeah, he showed something that warranted the constant attempts to make him a star, but it wasn't until '05 that it finally clicked, and prior to that, Christian was far more watchable/bankable.

I don't know, but the pornstar gimmick definitely had a ceiling - that being "opener of SummerSlam for the European Title." I mean, yeah, I get it, Russo was a big player then, and it was the Attitude Era, but you can't have longevity with a male pornstar wrestler. And really, shit was pretty bland.
In summer '00, they gave him plain white tights, had him cut his hair, eliminated the towel, gave him Trish as a manager and put the IC Title on him under the premise that, without the porn and women on his mind, a focused Val could totally beat Rikishi in midcard matches and be a success. He even had a club remix of his music! Shit was serious! Then he became a member of RTC, and for some reason, he was a chief of Raw.
Val Venis: another midcard chud.

Don't know what to tell you. I started watching Smackdown on Hulu in '09 and Youtube last year. Every episode I've seen included a "From the Vault" segment. This is done primarily to pad out the timecount due to the lack of commercials.
That is really odd then. I wonder where the uploader got the episode from.

But what do you think about the KOW news?

I think that Survivor Series was put back on the schedule.
As it should be. I really don't understand why Vince seems to hate the Survivor Series concept. If you build up several individuals or teams with grievances against each other and put them together under a logical team captain (usually a main eventer) you can orchestrate a nice holdover until a feud ending one on one match.
A good example of this was the 2006 Survivor Series with DX, CM Punk and the Hardys vs Rated RKO, Gregory Helms, Johnny Nitro and Mike Knox. DX was feuding with Rated RKO at the time and both teams consisted of main event talent and filled out the team captain slot well. The Hardys both had singles feuds going at the time and had just begun teaming again, so seeing them together was an attraction and logically brought Helms and Nitro into the match. CM Punk was in ECW in the midst of his undefeated streak at the time and feuding with Mike Knox, which brought Knox into the match as well as allowed CM Punk to fill the role of the young, upstart babyface. At the end of this match all the faces got a good rub (I believe they were the only team to not lose a man in SS history) and all the feuds continued on, with this match adding more fuel to the fire. Now there have certainly been way better Survivor Series matches, but this one illustrates how it's really not very hard to put together at least a few traditional Survivor Series matchups as opposed to the one token match we've received in recent years.

This was a funny piece of news I found
WWE Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson reportedly had trouble getting into the arena before the SmackDown live event in White Plains, NY this past weekend.
Zeke apparently was denied entry by the arena security because they did not recognize him as one of the WWE Superstars. After pleading his case and still not allowed in, Zeke phoned one of the WWE agents, who came down and let him in.

The elimination tag matches should effect the status quo/ongoing storylines in the immediate future. There should be something at stake; there needs to be consequences to winning or losing the tag match. The outcome should resonate afterwards.
The tag matches would ideally act like a comic event, insofar as you're guaranteed that the outcome will ultimately pay off down the line. Instead, it's just a few midcard faces against a few midcard heels. I think Survivor Series '04 really embodied what the elimination tag matches should be about. You had Triple H's heel team against Randy Orton's face team, with the winning team's members each getting to be interim GM for a Raw, thus the next four weeks were informed by the winners of the tag match at the PPV (one week, Orton would be GM, the next, Benoit, the next, Jericho, the next, Maven).
I'll go one further; neither the World Heavyweight Championship or the WWE Championship should be defended on the show. It is imperative that both champions be included in the tag matches in order to heighten their importance. Use these tag matches to exacerbate a burgeoning World Title grudge. Have the outcome be a major turning point in a title feud.
Do something like that. Put something on the line. Make the matches meaningful. Have actual grudges going into the matches. That Survivor Series '04 match not only mattered inasmuch as it shaped the programming over the next month, but the build was excellent.
