From the team behind Street Angel, Afrodisiac is, to quote Dan Nadel's review (http://comicscomicsmag.com/2010/03/afrodisiac-comes-alive.html), "an anthology of, well, comics ephemera related to the titular blaxploitation character. Rugg and Maruca smartly present not complete stories, but rather snippets, splash pages, covers, and even the “final” Afrodisiac story, all rendered in a variety of styles that emulate the look and feel (right down to the paper tone and off-register coloring) of 1970s and ’80s Marvel comics."
While the book is between printings, Adhouse is putting the whole thing up online (http://www.adhousebooks.com/blog/?p=261), for free!

Cool! I just got it in hardcover. It's a great book.

I love what Rugg does with the sound effects.

I just noticed yesterday it was out of print. I need to order a copy once it's back in print, but this is a cool approach.

Besides how awesome the actual contents are, the book design itself is masterful. This book is worth owning even after you've read it for free on internet.
