When you do watercolors, do you use the paints or do you use watercolor pencils? Because I just picked up some watercolor pencils myself.

I mostly use the trays. Like the ones you buy for children.
In the past I have put some color pencil on top of that in places,
Hope you dig the pencils you have. Feel welcome to post your works with it here!

Hey David, another related question; what watercolor paper do you use? Do you have favorites?

I can't speak for David, but I find Strathmore and Canson to both make great papers

Yeah those are good. I know that Arches makes some really kickass ones, but they typically come in large sizes and they cost a ridiculous amount. Still, if one has the disposable income and wants to make a great large watercolor piece, Arches is a good company to buy paper from.

Yeah I use both of those sometimes for larger pieces.
For comics 11x17 I prefer to use Blu-Line Pro.
Of course I use the back with no blue lines on it.
Its a smooth board and things coagulate differently.
Sometimes I use Marvel paper for a different blotchier effect because it has more tooth to it.
