She hacked it all off and bleached the hell out of it, but the video is ten years old. That look didn't last long.

It's a weird song. I believe it's based on some book about a boy who dresses like a girl and works as a truck stop hooker. They wanted to pass really twisted subject matter off as a feel good pop song. I'm still not too crazy about it though.

If I remember correctly, it's based on an autobiographical nonfiction book by a trans woman about her youth as a prostitute.... the book was revealed to be a complete fiction, and the author was apparently a biological woman who just made it all up. Fun facts.
