Fantastic Four kicked ass. Every little drop of it. The Thing kicked ass. Ben Grimm kicked ass. Human Torch kicked ass. We got Thing vs. both Reed and Johnny. Doom was awesome. Stan Lee was awesome.

It was all awesome.

I'm right, neener neener.

First, many on here thinks it looks good.

Second, I know its ass. And I haven't seen it.

Captured the FF perfectly. Anyone who genuinely beleives they got the feel of the movie wrong has never read an FF comic.

Guess I was proven right by my "wait to judge after seeing it" stance.

Such as Roger Ebert?

Not at a midnight show. Our crowd loved it.

See, Roger Ebert is highly intelligent. Unfortunately, he has gotten to the point where he judges everything on whether or not it is art. And that makes his opinion on a movie like FF pretty much invalid.

Not yet. I'm seeing it tomorrow night, if I can get out of work early enough. I saw a few of the early trailers, and the recent teaser that shows Reed stretching to get the toilet paper, but was only half paying attention since I was reading Aztek at the time. But nothing that made me think "oh god it will be teh suXXorz!" Even movies with good previews have ended up being really bad, though.

The main thing I'm hoping is that the dialogue from the game wasn't a good representation of what it's like throughout most of the movie.

What gets me is that a lot of people hating on it without having seen it are judging it by early ideas that didn't even make it into the final film.

I'm pretty sure that most of the people going to midnight showings and other preview screenings would have read the comic or at least know something about it. At the very least, they're probably going with someone who has, which would bring that percentage down to 50% or less.

Yeah, I'm thinking that the game probably started development around the same time as the movie, before they added in/took out things during shooting for whatever reason.

True. Therefore, they can be something that truly inspires and elevates the meaning of what can be done to pull at emotion in a film, like Eternal Sunshine. Or, they can be action flicks, like FF. You cannot judge an action flick the same way you would a drama. Unfortunately, no one told Ebert.

I agree with that totally. But at the smae time that doesn't mean the FF is good, at least for me or Ebert. I've seen the man give good reviews to action movies. I've think he does judge movies by their own merits. He doesn't complain of the lack of a romantic plot or lofty philosophical ideas. He says its boring, has no plot, and spends most of the time going through everyone's powers.

To me, Equilibrium is a good action movie and the Matrix movies are bad ones. Both very similar. Yet I but one very much above the other.

What Avengers?

I've yet to read an issue of the old or New series that I really consider to be worthwhile.

Most of my FF experience is with Wair, whos writing I have never liked.

I do want to read the Morrison FF mini though. And I think the characters, like almost all characters, could be interesting and innovative if written well and given the chance. I've just yet to see it done.

See my other rant. It can't spend too much time going through powers, as he beleives Sue's are similar to Storm's.

Weell, you probably won't like the film, as your taste and mine agree only on Avengers here. I love the FF, and I love Wiad's writing, and I thought his run was one for the ages.

P.S. See how I can disagree without insulting him? Everyone see that?
