I am moving into a new house and as a result, my parents decided they didn't want to store my comics for me anymore. I always did things my own way. i have all of my parent's comics bagged an boarded in old boxes they ship reams of paper in to office buildings.
However, my girlfriend is helping me build a nice "nerd-room" in our house and I have to decide how to store my comics.
should I get nice filing cabinets (like I saw at comicon this year), or just some long boxes (and where does one even buy Long-boxes?)
Any of you guys have any advice on the best way to store single issues? I probably have about three-to-four thousand single issues from the 80s through early 2000s.
I'm fine with my bookshelves of tpbs and Absolute editions, I just can't figure out the best (and nicest) looking way to store all my stuff.
Any ideas?

I have a lot of space so I bought a comic drawer thing like you would see in a comic store and stuck it in a closet. I still had to/have to get rid of a lot of comic though.

And you can buy these cardboard drawer setups cheaply which I am told are a lot more sturdy than you would think.
Long boxes you should be able to buy at any comic book store and if you can't get to a store I would think that some of the major online comic retailers would sell them.

I have my comics in short boxes sitting on one of those wire shelves like you see in resteraunts and such. Each shelf can hold up to 300-500 lbs, so they work fine for me. I don't have as many comics as you though.

Can you post a link for an example of this? I can't quite picture what you mean?
Or a picture if you have. Thanks.

These, but I'd recommend the long box version over the short boxes.

I saw these at NYCC. They are really nice, but they look very small.
