Wow. I don't even know what to say.

My condolences to his partner and family.
He seemed like a really nice person and will surely be missed.

Sad. But I confess I had no idea who Perry Moore was until I saw this.

Perry was active on the old YABS board discussing HERO

what odd about the article is they don't mention the gay teen book he wrote, HERO...it was optioned by showtime to be made into a series

This is horrible.

Perry was a good friend, and one of the kindest and most generous people I've met from Hollywood. He had tremendously kind words for so many people...he constantly went to bat for people when he felt they were treated unfairly.

He was talented...Hero is a lovely book, and he was so happy that it inspired so many lgbt teenagers. I think that meant more to him than anything.

He was just a beautiful guy, inside and out. He could rub people the wrong way in his enthusiasm, but it was never malicious.

I'm so, so devastated. All I can say is my condolences to his loved ones. This is just terrible news.

That's really awful. I've heard about Hero but didn't make the connection.

My deepest sympathies to friends and family.

That's awful. I remember him coming on YABS a few times to talk about the list.
My condolences to his family.

He was a nice guy and I really enjoyed talking comics with him. We workshopped a few details on a Marvel pitch last year.

This is awful for his family and those close to him and I extend my condolences.

I knew about Hero but didn't kow about The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe...good movie.

I considered him a Yabster (even if he posted infrequently) and he will be missed.

Horrible. He seemed like an excellent and good human.

I've had a couple of friends about a decade ago brought down by prescribed Opioids, so it kinda hit home. People make the mistake of thinking Oxy or Hydro is any safer than street Heroin, because a doctor prescribed it. I'm concerned though, because it's very hard to 'accidentally' overdose.

Terrible news. Perry was a good guy. Steph chatted with him several times about Hero. Very sad.

He was a really good guy and what I remember must was that his driving need to help other who weren't so fortunate, to tell them that they were okay, always shone through.

This is so sad. :(

I am pretty much devastated. Perry was working on a sequel to Hero and he was never far from my thoughts. I was humbled by his response to a fan letter that became an ongoing conversation. This is so unreal to me.

Damn.

This is a great loss to the LGBT community, and to the comics field in journal.

Good on him for giving gay teens an icon, and a voice in comics.

My condolences to his family and friends, I'm so sorry for your loss, guys.

I've been meaning to read Hero as I consider any superhero prose novel worth a look. (Well, not necessarily the novelizations of comic characters, though there are some good ones occasionally.)

Sorry to hear about this. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

Yes, yes it is.

That said, condolences are in order to those who were close to him, as well as his family.

I swear these fucking pills are replacing heroin and alcohol as the #1 killer of talented individuals.
