Venom is available for subscription, where you get the lowest priced comics mailed to you: http://subscriptions.marvel.com/title/VENOM (I signed up just now)
And it makes me wonder, there have been numerous series that have been available for subscription even before issue #1 hits. And it may be than the publisher knows what will sell beforehand?
I'm just happy I get it for $1.83 an issue instead of $3.99! (Or $21.97 instead of $47.88 for 12 issues!)

Point is, they know it will be 12+ issues where many other series can't support themselves due to readership.

If so, great. Anything that gives a kick-ass series like this a fighting chance.

Why does Spider-Man have combat boots and shoulder pads?

Why does?
You're the one that looks like Cartman, right? Or is that Bartleby? I get you both confused. Not the best memory.

Exactly. I might break my tpb only rule for this.

I'm all-in for this. It looks like Marvel's most entertaining book since Aaron's super-fun Ghost Rider run.

Venom is a $3 book, not $4. Just checked DCBS.

That's weird, comicbookresources and marvel.com have it at $3.99. Either way, you should get it for $1.83 subscription price.

I think only the first issue is $4. I get many of my Marvel through sub as well. I don't like it as much these days as the books have been getting later and later. A few years ago, I always got the new issues before the release date. I'm waiting to see if Marvel drops some prices in May before I do more subs.

Yeah, wherever Tony Moore goes at Marvel seems to be where the fun is happening. Did you read Franken-Castle?

Considering the back up story explaining his origin was the best part of this week's Amazing issue, i'm seriously thinking about doing a marvel subscription for the first time in over a decade. God i hope this series is good....

I was very impressed with the back up. This Venom series could be really cool.

Maybe not for a creature made of tar, but in general.

Hmmm I will seek this out.
I kinda like the idea of someone named Venom that doesn't actually have the suit.

Nope, can't wait to read a trade, though. Moore is on fire right now. I think the Ghost Rider issue where he fights The Highwayman (#34) is a literally perfect superhero comic.
Did you guys see the preview page Wacker put on Twitter? With the new Jack O'Lantern? Aw, man.

I hadn't til you just inspired to go dig around for it. Expectations now much, much lower.
Venom #1 is to printer! Great work by Moore, Remender, Miki, Rauch, Caramagna (and Kesel and Florea for a couple pages.) Ridiculous comic.
I really dislike those finished pages in relation to the pencils, and having that many additional art credits on the very first issue only makes me more concerned. I'm still gonna try it, but... definitely a little bummed now.

Why does Spider-Man have combat boots and shoulder pads?
Flash wants to be Spider-Man more than anything, when he put on the suit, it gave him his legs back and some superhero wish fulfillment.

Wait until you get your first issue. When you do, the cardboard it is wrapped in will have an offer that reads: "Get Any Title Just $21.97." Then everything is cheaper that way. You can even get 3 pack subscriptions which is $1.39 an issue. I have that for Amazing Spider-Man, and they offer that for some X and Avengers titles.

I'm hoping the book does well, the world needs more Tony Moore art out there. Especially if he continues to put out covers like these:
