After listening to the second part of the conversation with Jeff Parker, Siuntres points out those "tangent conversations" about movies, songs, books are really interesting to some Wordballoon listeners.

They really are. Every time John is interviewing creators like Fraction, Brubaker, Bendis, Parker, Hickman and they start talking about other subjects besides comics, the conversation reaches another level.

I lost count of how many times I've followed a "sugestion" given on those talks. Could be the Welles/Bogdanovich interviews about comic books (from the last Fraction one). Or the fact that after Remender's (if I'm not mistaken) I had to rewatch all the Planet of the Apes series. Read two Modesty Blaise books after DeConnick talked about them.
What about Bendis talking about Mamet or Brubaker talking about crime movies?

Had to find them all.

Those are my favorite part about the interviews. I don't follow all the books, but I like to hear what the creative force behind them likes to listen, watch, read. What inspire them.

Thanks John for those tangent subjects.

Parker is hilarious. I was cracking up listening to him talk about The Watcher. I was also intrigued by your talk about Underground. I know you have talked about it with him before, but this time it just really caught my interest for some reason. I went to instock trades and ordered Underground along with The Definitive Powers vol. 4 HC, and Hack Slash Omnibus vol. 1. Thanks for another great interview John!
