I was just thinking today about the lost art of bunting. It should be mandatory that you know how to lay down a bunt!

Took the lead in the top 9th. It's been a brilliant pitchers duel. 3 hits for each team, 2-1 bottom 9th..

Now Izzy just walked the second batter. :scared:

I'm thinking about bench Marquis tomorrow. He's been killing my fantasy pitching lately.

You never know what you're going to get. Carp was mowing them down again tonight. That's what 5 straight shut-the-door starts. I think he's only given up about 10 hits over the last 4 or 5 games

Agreed. Although the bunt Eckstein put down wasn't perfect, it had the slight chance of being caught mid-air, it got down in a damn good position to allow Taguchi to score. And the look on Green's face with that K in the ninth was priceless.

And man do I love watching Carpenter pitch. Too bad his scoreless inning streak ended tonight. And Albert's hit streak as well. More importantly, the team won and that's aces.

Damn fine game though.

Jason Ellison put down a bunt on his own in the Giants game (they did something right for a change) right past the pitcher's mound. A run scored from third and the pressure forced on the defence caused a throwing error allowing Ellison to advance to second. Good to hear that the Cardinals won, the Giants are still winning in the eight, but there is still a half inning to go and no lead is safe.

Carp has been strong this year and pitching late in games.

I've kind of always liked the Giants. Except for '02. I remember rooting for them in the '89 Series when I was a kid. And you guys have a hell of a catcher.

Yeah. If this keeps up, and there's no reason to think it won't, that two year extension is going to pay huge.

I'm pretty happy with him. Giants have a strong national fan base although we get no love from ESPN. And Jon Miller and Joe Morgan are Giants announcers! I went to a Giants/Cubs game at Wrigley and was pleasently surprised to find a lot of Giants fans in attendance.

Okay, I'm going to completely disagree with the no love from ESPN thing. It seems to me that the Yanks, Red Sox, Giants, and Dodgers are ALWAYS on ESPN.

Also, I didn't know Miller AND Morgan were both the regular Giants' guys. I knew Miller was, not Morgan. I love them together, though. Miller's got such a soothing voice.
