Why not stay a while?

We like new people!

Hang out and introduce yourself and post.

But please, don't try to change Catman's litter box.

It's absolutely gross.

Ur, howdy? Not sure I exactly count as new, but I've been around a few weeks. So yeah, I'm British, a big Doctor Who fan (see avatar), wannabe writer and a big DC/Gail fan. Yup, that sums me up.

It's not too late! You can make it. Just run. Don't look back and run.

If you die here...you stay here...

I've posted a few times, and being a newbie anywhere is intimidating! There seem to be all these inside jokes between posters which I don't understand and I don't want to offend anyone with comments or put something that ends up being a non-sequitor and gets ignored! I'll probably end up being more of a lurker :)

The more you read, the more you get the in-jokes. And if you post occasionally, people will see your name and start to recognize you. Then you won't be ignored, as long as you aren't obnoxious, and eventually people will respond to you. It can take awhile, but these are friendly people. Join us...

I like really, really pale dudes...complicated by the fact that I do not like vampires. It confuses people sometimes. Basically, that's about all you need to know to get anything I say. :p

It takes awhile, but the more you participate, the more things will make sense. Gail's forum is VERY newbie-friendly, not quite as rough as the Benbo can be. Interaction takes time - I've been here for years, have 15,000+ posts to show for it, and still there are times I post stuff and only hear crickets in reply. It's the nature of the forum beast and it makes you think no one is 'listening'. Speaking for myself, I read a LOT more than I ever reply to - just don't have the time. So a lack of reply doesn't mean that you're being ignored, it's just...just...that sometimes forums aren't big on the instant gratification thing.
