'Twas the Run Before Christmas
As Told by Sy-Klone
'Twas the run before Christmas, when all down the road
The Bandit was stirring, transporting a load
Frog at his side, from a wedding she fled
Always hopping around, putting thoughts in his head
Behind them rode Snowman, his path made clear
With his trusty Hound, Fred, he was hauling the beer.
Somewhere nearby, sat Dom DeLuise
Just give him some meatballs, he's easy to please
Speeding behind them, a lawman and son
Chase after Frog, is that Jackie Gleason?
Frog was to marry the son, to her shame
That mustached lawman, Buford T. Justice by name
Bandit laughed as his 'stache danced in the wind
Falling in love with his new girlfriend
Meanwhile, Snowman hummed a song or two
While Buford T. Justice's obscenities flew.
Through traps and stunts, Bandit's Trans-Am sped
Junior wants to marry Frog, but she's giving Burt head
Waiting in Georgia for their refreshing Coors
Big Enos and Little Enos, from whom Bandit scores
Pontiac so rapid, the cameos came
Soon Cannonball Run would be their great shame
Now Dean, now Sammy, now Dom DeLuise
On Farrah, on Roger, on Klinger the Sheik
To the top of the credits, to the top of the charts
Needham's southern fried chase films are practically art!
This is no Evening Shade, no, not at all
Burt's got a dinner theater and he's soon going to fall
But for now, the stars came, and the audience, too
To watch Bandit and Snowman in Smokey and the Bandit II
This time, no beer, but an elephant they haul
This premise is thin, did Reynolds read the script at all?
Sally Field grew tiresome, Reynolds grew bored
The elephant grew weary, Dom's ass is getting sore
But sequels would follow these 70s stars
Cannonball Run II? Now Jerry Reed's in the car?
Spiraling downward they tumbled, Dom is not having fun
And Reynolds, poor Burt, paid Loni a handsome sum
Soon he'd be forced to produce something raw
He'd get Burt Convy to host Win, Lose, or Draw
Soon there'd be Evening Shade, no, not Marilu
From the producers of Designing Women, say it ain't true!
Those were lean years, even Burt would have to say
And the 'stache (not the 'stache!) was beginning to turn gray!
Hope came for Burt Reynolds after some slights
He got a big role in a new film, Boogie Nights
We saw him again, briefly, shades of Burt, older and thick
As he took on that role, almost as big as Wahlberg's fake dick
As we looked on that Burt, that Burt of old
We remembered how we laughed at the story he told
Bandit and Frog and Snowman and Buford T.
Smokey and the Bandit, a true classic indeed
As I watch Smokey now, I feel like a fool
For one brief moment, Burt was pretty cool
As he chuckled and laughed with that inimitable twang
I could only join him, I laughed and sang:
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin'
We're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' Bandit run.
Keep your foot hard on the pedal. Son, never mind them brakes.
Let it all hang out 'cause we got a run to make.
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there's beer in Texarkana.
And we'll bring it back no matter what it takes.
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' Bandit run!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
In yesterday's local paper there was an article discussing a dead body found in an unheated mudroom.
Today the follow-up article refers to the room the body was found in as a Locked Vestibule.

SANTA'S JOURNAL
DECEMBER 24, 2010. 10:30 P.M.:
Meeting with Elf Foreman left bad taste in mouth. He is pampered and decadent, betraying even his shallow, liberal affections. Possibly homosexual? Must remember to investigate further. Buk as bad. Flabby failure who sits whimpering in his parents' basement. Why are so few of us left active, healthy, and without personality disorders? Only two names remaining on my list. Both share private quarters in Milwaukee. I shall go to them. I shall go and tell YPJ that someone plans to murder him.
DECEMBER 24, 2010. 11:30 P.M:
On Friday night, TIP died in Minneapolis. Someone threw him out a window and when he hit the sidewalk his head was driven up into his plooksack. Nobody cares. Nobody cares but me. Are they right? Is it futile? Soon there will be war. 298 will burn. 298 will perish in sickness and misery. Why does one death matter against so many? Because there is good and there is evil, and evil must be punished. Even in the face of Armageddon I shall not compromise in this. But there are so many deserving of coal...and there is so little time.
Klone is mine all mine!

I respect that.
I watched a few episodes of the Eccleston season when it debuted on Sci-Fi a few years ago, and I wasn't taken with it then. For a lot of the reasons you mention...it's very British, it's corny (Series 1 had farting aliens, for goodness sake), and it's rocky in spots. But I checked out some later episodes, found that I dug the newer stuff a lot more, then worked my way back into the earlier stuff. (Earlier as in Series 1-4...I still haven't braved the earlier stuff from 1962 - 1989.)
You (or anyone else so inclined) might want to consider jumping in with Series 5 (or even with Series 6). It's a new showrunner and head writer (Steven Moffat), new Doctor, new companion, and a great jumping on point. I loved Series 5. Moffat's stuff is especially fantastic.
And that new companion (as noted 'round these parts and by my lower parts previously) is :heybaby:

I'm a bit of a snob about it, but anytime I walk into a store or bar and the douchebags therein are suddenly listening to one of "my" bands, it's like they tore a little strip of my universe away, and I usually don't want that piece back.

I've had four separate sets of friends whose marriage didn't last a year. Kinda sad, really. The latest one I can't figure out at all.
A lot of it, I think, has to do with antiquated views on porking, as most of them felt you HAD to be married before you lived together, let alone fucked. It's silly to me. If you don't live with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with for at least a little while, how do you know if it'll work or not? Stupid ultra-conservative way of life up here in this part of Indiana.
More than likely it's due to one of the many, many sects of the Christian Church being founded and still run out of here: United Brethren, which I'm still not convinced is really a thing.

That, my friends, is a Saturnalia miracle. We commissioned Sonny Strait to create a Squirre| Gir| sketchcard. He got all inspired and did it as a pandemonium parody of Frank Frazetta, during the full lunar eclipse on the Winter Solstice. It exploded our minds and fulfilled our wishes beyond any sense of previous human comprehension.
Now if someone would sketch Shelley Long over a horse that Leonard Nimoy was riding..

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1340724/Mad-Men-star-Christina-Hendricks-like-play-Wonder-Woman.html
'I'd like a shot at Wonder Woman,' says Christina Hendricks... but the costume may need some adjustment
She is usually flaunting her curves in tailored suits and smart office dresses as her Mad Men character.
But Christina Hendricks has revealed that she would love to try the skin tight lycra outfit of Wonder Woman on for size.
The 35-year-old actress revealed her aspirations to play the sexy superheroine during an interview with U.S. chat show host Rachel Ray.
Although actress quashed speculation that she has been offered the role she was quick to outline that she would be eager to take it on.
She said: ‘I heard that rumour too – I don’t know where it got started but I love it!,’
‘I've been wanting to wear that outfit my whole life! I'd love to [do it]. That would be such fun! Let's put it out there!’
But with the star's ample bosom the tight fitting outfit may need some adjustment to cater for her curvy figure.
Christina is proud of her womanly curves and showed the chat show just how she maintains them by whipping whipping up a Tuscan Kale Caesar salad, bacon soup and a whisky cocktail.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/12/22/article-0-0C8EC26B000005DC-613_468x344.jpg
Dressed in a demure animal print dress Christina wowed the chat show host with her creative flair in the kicthen.
And it seems the actress, who plays Joan Holloway on the hit show does not compromise on the flavour of her dishes.
She proudly stated that her salad dressing was loaded with cheese and eggs and she bragged that her soup was so good because it contains the tasty bacon meat.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/12/22/article-0-0C8EC26F000005DC-641_468x316.jpg
Although she is body confident and is proud of her curves the actress has revealed that she was put under pressure to conform to industry norms.
Speaking to Grazia earlier this year she said: 'People in the industry have been telling me to lose weight for years but I like the way I look.'
However the star, who is married to actor Geoffrey Arend, wasn't always quite so curvy.
'I started out as a model and when I went to Italy to build my modelling book, I gained 15 pounds from all the pastas and cappuccinos,' she told the magazine.

I have that DVD player.
The silver one on the bottom? That's my trusty region-free Phillips DVP-642!
Here's how to make it region-free:
-Plug in and turn on.
-Open tray.
-Point remote at the player and enter 7 8 9 OK 0 . "0" will briefly flash on your screen (you'll miss it if you're not watching). You are now region free.

Hmm. I hardly ever use ours anymore, but we never had trouble with it. It was a trusty little sucka that played everything we threw at it, no matter how half-ass or illegal it was.
The REAL question is... can you tell which of Jim's cats is which???

Court rules teen's sock fire not arson
WELLINGTON, New Zealand, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- A New Zealand appellate court tossed out an arson conviction for a teenager who lit his socks on fire and wound up burning down a garage.
The High Court in Wellington overturned the earlier Youth Court ruling convicting the 14-year-old of arson for the April 14 incident in the garage of a friend's parents, The Dominion Post reported Monday.
The boy admitted he lit his socks on fire, which he said he had done several times before without incident, and when he stomped his foot to extinguish the flame it ignited a carpet soaked with gasoline from an earlier spill.
The boy and his friends attempted to extinguish the fire, but the garage burned down, police said.
"(He) was 14 years old, and although his intelligence appeared to the (Youth Court) judge to be average, average 14-year-old boys may do things without any thought of the risks involved, even when they have been told about the risks on other occasions," Justice Jill Mallon said in the High Court ruling.

At home, having to go to sleep in a couple hours to get ready for night shift, watching Kathy Lee and Hoda and Kathy Lee keeps making ball jokes based off them spotlighting lamb balls for holiday cooking. If she tried that hard with Frank's maybe he wouldn't have been stepping out.

I've been digging it.
Sure I knew most of the stuff therein but there was plenty of Plookable Cy-Pigs to be had.
And had again.
