The lyrics are really bad. I think an instrumental version would've worked MUCH better.

Joanie Loves Chachi: God. Everything IS on Youtube...

Walker: I agree purely on the grounds country music is far from my favorite genre.

Firefly: Good backing music, lyrics I can take or leave.

Enterprise: If for some reason we get another Trek TV series, I hope for God's sake they don't give us a lyrical theme tune again.

House Calls: Definitely agree, way too random a melody and overshadowed by bad accoutrement.

Enterprise seasons 3-4, followed closely by Enterprise seasons 1-2. (Oddly enough, the opposite of the actual quality of the show.)

Although, a strong case could be made for this one being the best.

Seriously. It's the last thing I would have expected to find in this thread.

The Firefly theme song, lyrically and musically, is great.

That Texas Ranger song was horrible though.

Nono, see, because those are actually original songs. Wildcats even has a little hair-metal-appeal.

That Swamp Thing song is an absolute abomination. I feel like I've finally seen the face of true evil.

Every so often I see something that makes me say aloud, with dismay and confusion, "somebody wrote that..." This is one of those things.

"We're heroes, not zeroes."

And then it got performed and cut together. It got produced! And at no point did anyone involved in that multi-step process stop to reconsider whether or not this was, you know, laughably terrible.

Greatest American Hero (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Q3orQhEcA)

and in pretty much the same vein

The Love Boat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmUlKPthrag)

I'd also add

Shark (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dmlHYC29RY) to the list and any theme sung by Vonda Shepard (Ally McBeal I'm looking at you)

The love boat fucking rocks.

I did that for karaoke one night, and brought the house down.

(of course it helps when you throw the names of guest stars in between the lyrics:

"Love.....

exciting and new

(CHARO!)

come aboard.....

(DICK VAN PATTEN)

we're expecting you.....

(SCATMAN CROTHERS!)...."

etc.

Enterprise was really bad though
They should of used the theme song from the mirror universe episode of Enterprise...but that might be deemed too menacing for a Star Trek show.

This is epically bad though. One of those things that's bad in such a specific way, it transcends itself. And it so fits Image Comics at the time. It is an indictment of that which is 90s in all of us. :)

The WildCATS opening just makes my argument that singing is completely unnecessary in superhero show themes.

I'm having a hard time awarding the Wild C.A.T.S theme any points for not being a horrible Troggs filk. I'm honestly torn right now. Never having heard the songs until this thread, Wild C.A.T.S and Swamp Thing are in a dead heat with me for Worst. Theme. Ever. I can't decide. It's like asking me to choose between my children, if they were horrible children that I hated.
