Oral sex leads to other sex for teens

Oral sex is often a precursor to teenagers having intercourse, concludes a new study published in Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. The study asked more than 600 high school students in California to report on their sexual experiences by filling out surveys twice a year, from the beginning of ninth grade, in 2002, to the end of 11th grade, in 2005.

They could not extrapolate which experience came first but discovered that among teens who initiated only one of the two types of sex during that six-month window, oral sex usually preceded vaginal intercourse. Additionally, having oral sex once made intercourse more likely to occur.

Oh, I agree. I have heard it a number of times though. How a lot of girls will "hold" something sexual back, until they get married. I like to call it the "Beyonce" effect ;)

It is an interesting dynamic to modern relationships though, by this I mean it seems the worse the economy gets or rather the more stagnant it remains, how sex has continued to become the new American currency.

Sadly, it seems more and more people use sex as a weapon against the opposite (or same) sex.

Maybe I just notice it more since I am outside the dating world for the most part and dont have sex, but from the people around me and talking with women from college and bars, damn it seems like it's gone from sexual female empowerment to "how can I use sex in a relationship to assert some sort of control".

And dont get me wrong, guys are just as bad. I'm not judging those people, do what you want, but it just seems to be one of the things I notice more. Granted I live in a pretty conservative area that doubles as a college town so perhaps the area I live in tweaks my perception on it.
