If it's true, I guess I'll be surprised. I have a couple psps and they mostly sit in a drawer. The game media, those stupid discs, is a terrible design and there are precious few games worth playing. We have Nintendo DS's that get played a lot more because the games are so much better despite the limits of the hardware.

What PSP do you have perchance? I need one to modify and hack. :) I'd be quite willing to buy it,

Interestingly the PSPgo (the slideout version that does not have the supid disks)
actually sells badly compared to the larger PSP with the stupid disks

I use my psp alot, by that I mean I use it as an Ipod, the screen is impossible to play outside in the day time or any building that has too many windows. Which really limits it's portability in terms of games.

I bought a PSP back in Jan 06 and I tend to not to play it very often at all.

Considering that it was a pretty expensive purchase, £230 at the time with a game, I just don't use it a lot. I don't hate the UMD discs although the loading time is poor compared to DVD based systems.

There are some good games available though and the graphics are really sharp on some of the better titles.

I actually tend to forget all about my PSP and I rarely buy games for it. I wanted an Xbox 360 the day I bought the PSP but the stores were all out after Christmas and I thought I'd have to wait rather a long time to get one, which turned out not to be the case as they were back in stock almost everywhere about three weeks later despite the computer stores all telling me that I would have to wait several weeks to order one and that I probably wouldn't be able to get a hard drive model even after waiting. I did get a 360 but it wasn't for another year and a half and I didn't even save any money on the price despite waiting that long.

I think Microsoft should have a shot at an Xbox branded mobile phone / games console combining Windows Phone 7 with Xbox branding to deliver a powerful handheld gaming system with smartphone and social functions. It would have to be a console first and a phone second though as too many gaming phones aren't that great for playing games in terms of controls. The Xbox brand might help shift Windows Phone 7 too.

Well WP7 is being marked heavily on the XBL integration (even if they could do it a lot better)

It would be far better if it played proper games that linked in to the Achievements system. Playing online Halo on the bus would be fun and it would really add to the whole Xbox Live experience. Crap mobile games and limited Xbox Live functionality isn't going to set the world on fire.

I'm actually not very happy that the normal regeneration of consoles has been delayed as I would happily dig into my pockets to get a new Xbox system with more advanced features like Blu-Ray, built in Kinect technology, improved CPU, much more RAM and a terabyte Hard Disk, full web access, built in TV and digital radio tuner and handheld media player and mobile phone intergration.

Ohh

I have a phone that is also an mp3 player and I honestly am not enjoying that integration. I've never bought a game for it or any other cell phone. A friend of mine has the right idea, mp3 player for music, phone for communication and data. Though he really don't play his DS much. I don't really anymore. I borrowed a friend's PSP to try the new MGS game, but I couldn't get used to the controls and hated to bring a borrowed game ystem on the go.

in other words, this is not for you because you don't play handheld consoles..
... why even post in this thread then ?

That comes off as slightly rude.

Maybe it was supposed to
If you have no interest in handheld game consoles then naturally this phone is not for you, so why bother posting about it?`

because people are allowed opinions as long as they don't act like dicks about them?

I had a dream about playing a Sega Game Gear last night.

I have one of them in a box somewhere. They were like a handheld Master System, which was the Sega competitor to the NES. The battery life was awful and was quoted as being up to three hours on SIX AA batteries!

They were actually quite good for games though and titles like Streets Of Rage, FIFA International Soccer and Outrun Europa played and looked good.

The Game Gear even had a separate TV tuner available, although I didn't have one of those. I really only got a Game Gear because I couldn't stand the black and white Nintendo Game Boy and didn't want the expensive and poorly supported Atari Lynx.

Maybe he was discussing the phone portion and how that relates?

Rudeness is never really called for, and no one says what threads you can post in and what ones you cannot.
