I pre-ordered this and then promptly forgot about it, so it was a pleasant surprise when it showed up Monday:

what a great CD. . it includes not only some great (incredibly hard to find) music, but it also includes a nice (small) fold out poster -- that interestingly has some characters front and center who aren't represented in the CD anywhere! (like GA & Speedy!). . at least Black Canary gets a mention in the hysterically bad opening of the "Legends of the Superheroes" show.

There are really some great tracks on here, including the Batman Begins title song, the 60's Batman & 70's Wonder Woman shows, and the wonderful JLU theme.

but there are some GLARING omissions: where the hell is the "Teen Titans GO" theme (clearance issues?), or "Challenge of the Superfriends"? and really??? not one single Danny Elfman composition from Burton's two Batfilms? Heck, I'd even take Prince's "Batdance" over 5 very similar openings to Superman shows.

Still. . an easy 4star recommendation if you like theme songs :)

here's the full track listing:

1. Superman March (Sammy Timberg)
2. Theme From Superman [Album Version] (John Williams)
3. The New Adventures of Superman (John Gart)
4. Lois and Clark/The New Adventures of Superman (John Gruska)
5. The Adventures of Superboy (John Gart)
6. Superboy (Kevin Kiner)
7. Smallville Season 8 [End Title] (Louis Febre)

oh, and my second favorite thing this week came along in the same shipment.

this incredible Zombie book by Bob Fingerman (yes, the same Bob Fingerman who did "From the Ashes" and "Minimum Wage"):

I'm only a couple of chapters in, but I'm LOVING it so far.

here's the Amazon blurb that got me to pick it up:

Product Description
The world is in chaos. A zombie plague has devoured every nation on the planet. New York City is no exception. Imagine eight million zombies. Shoulder to shoulder. Walking the streets, looking for their next meal. The residents of one apartment building have bonded to keep themselves safe from the onslaught, but their inevitable demise lurks right outside their window, a constant reminder of the doom that awaits them. Forced to remain in the safety of the building, the tenants find themselves at each others' throats. When they spy a lone teenage girl who walks among the hordes, unattacked by the undead, their world opens up.

and it's got blubs from Robert Kirkman, Mike Mignola, Max Brooks, Trey Parker, and Augustin Burroghs!

Your two things are pretty neat, bert!

For me, it wasn't a thing I bought, but a quote (http://verogeller.tumblr.com/post/1266516627/i-shot-my-smallville-part-while-im-sworn-to) from Teri Hatcher:

I shot my Smallville part. While I’m sworn to secrecy, I can tell you that it was a blast from the past and it was with love in my heart that I tried to deliver something that served the part, honored the show in its 10th season, and gave a tip of the hat to all the deserved fans who’ve supported me all these years. Many thanks. It was lots of fun. Check out this photo from the set. Can you believe it? Ah…Lois. I love Susan but I’ve missed you. (Teri Hatcher, 2010)

*sniff* Suddenly, I'm 13 years old again! The Lion King is being released from the Disney Vault pretty soon, too, right? And those pesky Republicans are trying to take over the Senate/House again? Welcome back, 1994!!!

On a less nostalgic note, I apparently accidentally ordered a book-on-cassette version of a book I wanted to read. That also arrived today, just to mock me. I'm pretty sure I don't own any sort of cassette tape player any more. That part of the 90's can stay awayyyy.
