Unless you use IE (on which case, you have bigger problems), you can use Google Instant Search feature.

As a Web 2.0 enthusiast, I'm all for it. I think for delivering static pages, it works better than with thumbnails (Google has moved their image search to AJAX for a little under a month, I think).

So, instant search... on or off?

the google search box on firefox has been doing this for years.

never mind. I was thinking of the predictive type feature and not the instant search results.

It doesn't work in my browser and I never actually use the google homepage, but I tried it out now with Chrome and it doesn't seem to be that much of an improvement. You save less than a second between this and just hitting enter when you've entered your search term.

It looks like they've disabled it for NSFW search terms, which is probably a good idea.
