I need the input of convention go-ers here.

If you are buying a weekend pass to a convention, would you rather just get a simple hand stamp and go through registration again on day 2 of the show?

Or would you rather get an ID wrist band, but be forced to wear it for the weekend?

personally I like the badges, but out of the two here, wristbands for sure.

Badges will be for a future convention...takes a bit too much out of the budget this year ;)

Going through registration twice, depending on how many people are there would be a pain in the butt.

A wrist band is the last thing anyone whats for a multiday event.

Still, requeuing can actually be worse. Your decision should be based on your capacity to process people rather than a poll on a board. If the line to get in the second day is anything unreasonable, avoid this.

Makes sense...we'll be able to process people without much delay...But still a delay. The wristband eliminates that delay...but you have to wear it for 2 days.

The Decision has been made, but there is time to change it if necessary. So I guess I am just looking for input as to what people think would be the lesser of 2 evils.

Out of the two, wristbands. Registration can be hassle when it comes to bigger cons.

Yup, going with wristbands

Why don't you just issue them two tickets at registration, and they get their handstamped upon redemption of tickets at the door?

Not a bad idea Steve. Gold star for you!

Neither. Badges.

Of the two options, wristband is better, but when I receive a wristband, I typically don't put it on until the last day of the convention. I just make it look like I'm wearing it on the first day. I dislike doing this, but I'm not going to wear the same wristband for two days. If it's a 2 day event, why not buy two different colored wristbands and give them both on the first day if they buy a pass for both days so they can take off the first one after day one and put on the second one before day two.

Wristbands suck (which is probably why Wizard uses them). Badges are the way to go. But of the choice between wristbands and stamps with two days of standing in line, then the wristbands are the lesser of two evils.

Spend the money on badges. It's not something you should cheap out on.

Wristbands, I don't want to register twice. Don't even want to do it once.

Appreciate the responses so far.

If I could get around 50 votes I'll be happy. :)

I've already voted, but I'll add my thoughts as well...Lining up for registration pretty much sucks. To have to do it twice for a 2-day convention would pretty much piss me off. Just about any option that avoids that would be better, to me, than 2x registration.

Based on the results so far I would predict that outcome would be something akin to 47-3 in favor or wristbands, but with all 50 people actually preferring badges over both options.

We'd prefer to have badges...but badges aren't cheap. All the guests and vendors will get them...but to buy enough to cover the attendance we anticipate...well it gets costly quick. Next year maybe...

I have hairy arms and hate those wristbands.
