Howdy.
As YABS old timers know already, I publish a couple comic books as Spinner Rack Comics. I like to share SR news and teasers so I'm starting up this new thread here at Jinxworld for old and hopefully new fans alike. I'll try to keep everything SR related in this one thread.
For SR newbies you can find out more about my books at the following links.

Tom has created a wonderful world of classic heroes that I can read and enjoy but also hand to my niece and nephew for them to enjoy.
It's old school fun comics without all the stuff that weighs modern comics down

DO! I think pretty much everyone who is exposed to Tom's character of Toy Boy falls in love with him. It's hard not to. Tom's created this kind of manic, devil-may-care, loony, one-man-wrecking crew with very little sense of self-preservation who has suddenly found himself in the position of reluctant hero... And he's a smart alec to boot.

You won't regret it!
The Honor Brigade TPB is awesome and well worth the money. And the first Toy Boy one-shot is a hoot! Definitely fun stuff.

I think you're really going to like the Toy Boy Halloween special. Toy Boy gets involved in some hijinks and ends up with a couple of pint-sized junior crimefighters at his side. Dealing with ankle biters is what heroes do, right?

Oh God, I can only imagine what he's going to teach those kids. Toy Boy is SO not who you would want as a role model for the kids.... which is one reason why I love him.
Come to that -- Toy Boy reminds me of Gary Busey's character in the movie "Silver Bullet" -- he's the insane uncle who will give kids souped-up hotrod wheelchairs and illegal fireworks.

Tom a link to where a poster can buy the trade would be helpful assuming you didn't sell out the first batch.

BTW, Tom--you eva gonna use that Deadeye logo I designed?

If I didn't already have a cover, the Cullins pin-up would get the nod. We weren't sure if it would be ready or not for the issue. Paris did a awesone pin-up for the Vegas book but I had to go to print before it was ready.
Deadeye logo? I don't recall you showing me one.

I would like to voice my love of Spinner Rack. I mean, its probably the best Rack in all of comics.
As much as I love Toyboy, I really want more Honor Brigade. Namely, I WANT MORE LIVING LOG! I don't know why but he's my favorite member. Maybe it has something to do with his wife being a rubber plant.

A favorite panel from a script I'm working on.
Panel Three
Toy Boy explains to Lightning Rod why he should be able to press the button. He's using his hands a lot. Lightning Rod looks at Toy Boy sternly, his arms crossed.
Toy Boy: Hold on, hold on...hear me out. This thing has a button. We don't know what it is. Doesn't it behoove our natural human curiosity to push that button and see what it does?
Lightning Rod: Behoove?
Toy Boy: Yeah, behoove.
Lightning Rod: NO!

I'd still like to do that story some day--things just got...CRAZY in 2007. Went diabetic and astigmatic around that time--then didn't get glasses for almost two years..
...and...ARRRGH! Can't believe I misspelled Cullins. I am yet another Twilight media-blitz victim.

Well, it belongs to Spinner Rack now, All Rights Reserved. I'll have to run through some old DVD burns to find the print size and b&w versions, but I know they exist--if you ever do actually want to use it.
I really do love the character/premise--almost as much as Mystery Girl (and I'm STILL jealous you came up with that name before me--since it's such a 'me' character name).

Who's the penciler on this one? Overall, I like their take on Lightning Rod but I kind of like it when LR's hair is a bit more messed up... gives him a slightly geeky quality.
In fact, I think that's what I really like about all of your characters -- they've got this ever-so-slight air of geekiness or nerdiness to them. Makes them endearing.

Jethro Morales is the artist. He's handled the illustration on both Toy Boy specials. Jethro's doing a little bit of a different style for Honor Brigade.

Wow. That's impressive. He doesn't look like himself. Seriously, though, it takes some real talent to be able to go 'chameleon' on art style.
Ya got a keeper there Tom.

I love working with Jethro. Great artist, great to work with. He'll get snatched up soon by a major publisher I bet.
I don't hold out much hope of making it to the majors myself but I'll be very pleased to see him move on to bigger things.

Screw "the majors". Most of my favorite stuff has come from you and Ape Entertainment. That isn't a suck-up, it's true. I ADORE the stuff Ape has been putting out and I'd rather go re-read "Honor Brigade" than read "Blackest Night" or "Secret Invasion" or the 'flavor-of-the-month' event from EITHER of the 'Big Two'.
