I was just wondering how many other people were reading this?

I am really digging it. It is like Nancy Drew meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Dawn of the Dead with a nice retro vibe to it.

With all due respect to Secret Six, I think it is the comic I am looking forward to the most today.

It is an awesome series. I love some of the silliness... like a nerd were-terrier.

One of the highlights of my life so far is working on Sesame Street.

But that is for another thread.

I'm enjoying it a lot more than I expected to. I tend to give every Vertigo title a look, no matter who the creative team is, and I typically don't like Allred's art. But so far, I'm loving the hell out of this book.

I love it. Beautiful art, great writing, interesting story and characters.

I suck at remembering character names, but the ghost girl is my favorite.

That would be Ellie, I believe.

I like the originality of the concept.

And this is my first exposure to Mike Allred's art. AS I said, a retro vibe I am really digging.

I was familiar with his art, but I think his Metamorpho strip with Neil Gaiman is the only other comic of his I have really read. Mostly I've just seen it places and liked it.

He did a positively rocking issue of Solo. I can never find back issues of that series, but was lucky enough to snag that issue for a buck.

And you should totally give his X-Force (and it's sequel, X-Statix) runs with Peter Milligan a try.

I have the same problem with Solo. I haven't read any of it and can never find it. I would love to read his issue.

I would also love to read his X-Force/X-Statix. Is it collected?

I second this. Madman Atomic Comics #3 was also awesome.

Yes. I got a few trades of X-Force at Borders like a year ago, but I'd try the internet.

It wasn't in their store last week. *Harumph*

I will probably order it though.

Madman Atomic Comics #3 was also awesome.

To expand on this: he drew every panel in the style of a different one of his artistic influences, going as far as researching the tools they used to better emulate their work. It was a pretty amazing experiment.

I haven't gotten the latest issue yet, but I'm digging it. I mean, it hasn't exploded me yet, but it's starting with a slow burn. Mostly I only picked it up for a monthly dosage of Allred-goodness. Wish he'd experiment a little (ala. Madman Atomic Comics - what a project!)
The characters are all pretty fantastic, too. And Gwen is just a million crazy types of sex.
