Why didn't THIS get a theater release?

Oh, that's right. It doesn't feature sparkly leech people.

Haw, you sad sacks really got broken up about Twilight!

Look, in the last few years we had the original 30 Days of Night, I Am Legend (kinda sorta), Let The Right One In, Daybreakers, and now a sequel to 30 Days. Scary vampires will survive, you pussies.

Anyway, fun trailer. Never saw the original. Wasn't it supposed to be not so good?

Why the long face, little guy?

Everyone knows the novel I Am Legend is a vampire outing, right? As I recall, the movie almost veers zombie, but they've got the vamp weaknesses and all that.

By the way, what's the final verdict on Daybreakers? I thought it looked cool from the trailers, but it seems I've mostly heard...opposite.

I really enjoyed the 30 Days of Night movie. It was flawed, but still a visceral, brutal horror flick. I have high hopes for the sequel. Directed by the dude who made the webisodes (which were better than they had any right to be), and everybody is treating it like a GOOD MOVIE, instead of a direct-to-DVD "whatever fills two hours" schlock fest.

Cool, Nev. I'll make it one of my movies come this October's "13 movies in 31 days" contest. Sandwiched between all the different kinds of horror movies I'm sure to have, I won't put undue expectations on it.

Seen Daybreakers? Anything?

Daybreakers has a very interesting world. The first act is mostly world-building and it is the most interesting part of the movie. I found myself wanting to see more of it. Unfortunately, once it turns into a more traditional action-flick it falls flat. I actually think it would have been better as a mini-series, allowing us to see more of the world before getting to the action part that solves everything and destroys that world.

As a mini-series, they could have had some kind of quest that forces the characters to explore the world more fully, and takes the viewer along for the ride. As is, we get a tantalizing glimpse, and then it's time to start blowing things up.

Looks fun but not exactly "good". Hopefully it'll be on Netflix streaming shortly after release.

Diora Baird is in it. So I'll be watching.

Looks on par if not better than the original.
