I'm ceebee_eebee on tumblr too. And it is really SO addictive. I'm finding myself less and less interested in LJ and spending most of my online time on tumblr instead.

Not really. It's basically a blogging platform (like blogspot or wordpress), except that it has a number of features integrated to make it easy to quickly share stuff you encounter online, like images, links or quotes. So it tends to be geared toward quick, short posts, rather than long "articles" or "essays."

There's also a very strong community feel to it, so in that sense it's maybe a little like Live Journal, but with less emphasis on the emo introspection.
