I love when Ben-bo does these, but I didn't have a scanner before, and couldn't participate. Now I have one, and can!

Basically, pick a character, and everyone who loves to draw, amateurs and professionals alike, post your take on the character! You can do it in 5 minutes, or spend a day on it! Just have fun!

Can anyone suggest a first subject, please? :)

I really like this one, it looks so dark, but also kind of has a classic feel to it.

That's pretty cool. I like it, as well as Ethan's, and another one I saw so far.

They're all better than what I can draw, btw.

It would figure I put it in the wrong thread--it's been that kind of 24 hours (or year--or decade--for that matter).

I started playing w/Gimp this week, and the proportion constraint from .tif to .jpg was way off...fixed, though. I tried to use all brush, but i'm really out of practice--it went sloppy and I messed up my light source.

It's a free Linux alternative to Photoshop, and has nothing to do with Quentin Tarantino (CAM!!! :lol: ).

I switched my main 'workhorse' computer over to Mandriva Linux around the time I drew it. I'm still getting the hang of different graphics and audio recording programs--but they mostly work just as well as Windows. Got both Photoshop 7 and Illustrator 10 to work in Linux last week with the program WINE, so I'm set. I've been waiting YEARS for Linux to catch up enough on print graphics to be able to dump Microsoft!
