Someone just informed that the Benbo has had there own tall drunk aussie for quite some time.
My fellow former Yabsters, this we cannot abide!
We had the drunk aussie first!
Therefore we must take action!
We must enter Cam into a drinking contest with this Bendis Aussie upstart!
This board is only big enough for one such Aussie!

Not sure. I haven't watched the match yet - recorded while I was sleeping (seeing as how I live in New Jersey, the match was on here in the wee hours) - and woke up right at the end, just in time to see the score. I'll watch it later and let ya know if the loss was due to drunkenness on the Wallabies' part, or just plain awesomeness on the All Blacks' part. I'm leaning towards the latter... ;)

Also, now I'm totally planning a Sydney trip for late February. Was I before? I can't remember. I will need to acquire a couch and/or park bench to crash on. I did that once in Sydney, I couldn't remember how to get back to my hotel after a particularly spirited night of spirits and woke up to an ibis poking me in the arm. It wasn't nearly as bad as I originally imagined.

We have WhiteRose in Brissy, Cam in the rural NSW bits, me in Sydney and Cass the Hobartian. There are a couple of others (I'm remembering one more in Sydney and someone in Melbourne), but I am horrible at remembering who is who!
Ahahahaha, the con question is hugely contentious. Sigh. There are con politics as the people who run them do NOT get along.
Supanova is the all-aussie convention. They run Brisbane and Melbourne in April of each year, and Sydney and Perth in June. I work for the Nova folk as a volunteer coordinator and celebrity PA (which is a thankless job, and I'd way rather be hanging with the comic folk. Sadly, they didn't believe me when I said that Nicola needed her own dedicated PA. SIGH). I also do high volume room crowd control. They're pretty awesome, and grew out of a comic convention that Daniel (the head of nova) used to organise.
Armageddon is the other convention. They're NZ based and until last year their only AU con was in Melbourne in October, paired with their big Auckland convention. Last year they had a mini Sydney con and this year they're having a full sized Sydney con and an Adelaide one too, the last weekend of Feb/first weekend of Jan
GenConOz got cancelled this year. Not enough vendors/sponsors. It may be back next year, and it's late September in Brisbane.

EVERYONE is drunk here. All the time. Might as well just say Aussie.
And you'd be hard pressed to find anyone wearing pants whilst here.
We've got the Eastern states covered..........
