So after reading the thread about who is the lamest X-Man I wondered who people think is the most dangerous me I have to go with Kitty I mean not only was she trained by wolverine but she also has shield training and is a ninja could you imagine if a writer got a hold of her and got rid of her moral compunction against killing?

Wolverine, Magneto, or Namor.

Cyclops. Why did it take 4 posts to get to his name? I'm disappointed in all of you.

I'm lying. It's obviously Cyclops.

The Phoenix. Byrne/Claremont era

As depicted, it's really hard to go with anyone but Wolverine...even though that's kind of silly.

But just to have something original to say, I'd suggest it's Professor X. Was it Onslaught were he went bad? I never read it 'cause I didn't read X-Men in the 90s, but I'm sure that if the most powerful telepath on the planet got pissy, it'd be a thing to fear. Dude's smart, too.

The Phoenix. Byrne/Claremont era

Yeah, but anytime she gets that powerful she's dead before she can do anything good with it.

Except for annihilating alien races. She did do that that one time.

Wolverine or Magneto.

The obvious answer would probably be Nathan Grey, but I'll go with Iceman.

Gotta say Jean Grey, Prof-X believes she is more powerful than he is & that's before she goes all Phoenix on your ass.

Which is why I'll go with Ice man. Can't use mental powers with your blood frozen and unable to circulate to your brain.

I figure any telepath worth his salt doesn't go up against a foe in a straight up fight. He scans for his foes mind, finds it, shuts it down. Iceman never sees crap and melts out on the pavement.

the correct answer is whichever mutant the writer is...writing. fuck people were talking about jubilee's powers being her unleashing tiny nukes or some shit. what the fuck writers? what the FUCK!

Amping powers to make a character interesting is often a cheap crutch to appeal to the crowd that thinks "more power = better."

I honestly wish the X-Men were all scaled back in power. Make them interesting characters, don't sweat the power levels. There's a reason Daredevil's one of Marvel's best characters, and it's not because he's powerful.

Potentially I think it's Magneto and Iceman.

Magneto could potentially reverse the earth's magnetic poles.

Iceman could potentially trigger another ice age.

Old Man Logan pretty much proved this IMO. Wolverine all the way. With his psychic defenses from Weapon X the telepaths are pretty useless against him, and he can cut through everyone else (including Colossus).

EDIT---Well, actually he'd be #2 behind Dark Phoenix. I mean, he can't destroy an entire solar system or anything like that, so she wins.

This here. Sure, with considering strictly power levels there are others better than Logan.

But with him you have a killer, who has decades of sneaky experience, a tracker, can't be killed....yeah ownage.

Yeah but that wasn't Jean. That was the Phoenix Force who had taken the form of Jean.

Even as Jean though, she still has the power to do that. So she'd get my vote for most dangerous.

I'll go with Professor X.

In current continuity, if he had to, he would go medieval on your ass and the fight would be over even before it started.

Mystique, because she's subtle...and subtle is sometimes more dangerous because you just don't know what - or who - exactly to fight.

Not in the 616. In the AoA he had better control of his abilities. :nerd:

Acceptable, considering he was created from the semen of Cyclops.

Wolverine or Magneto.

Magneto has an edge in that he's more powerful and could fuck up the planet pretty hardcore, but Wolverine also has an edge in that he can't be killed and has over a century of experience.

The timeline diverges after Scott Summers was born, so for all practical purposes it's the same guy.

Perhaps the nerdiest thing I've ever typed.

:rogue:

But does Jean/Phoenix count as a "dangerous mutant" since the Phoenix entity isn't her mutant power? Jean's mainly a telepath/telekinetic, but the majority of her dangerous power is acquired elsewhere.

Same guy biologically, but a different person warped by his environment (which you could technically say the same for the majority of Marvel's alternate universes).

Once I would have said Havok. He supposedly channels the power of a sun; even needs a special suit to keep from exploding or something.

Now, I would say Hope; for all she that others have done because of her.

As much as I love Cyclops, I've got to go with Charles Xavier. He will make you his own personal hand puppet, and you will never, ever know it.
Some evidence:
1) Choked out his twin sister in utero because he knew she wasn't right. Does Charles Xavier have to choke a bitch? Yes he does.
2) Developed the Xavier Protocols; detailed, specific plans for taking out all of the x-men, including himself, in case they went out of control.
3) Wiped the mind of his arch enemy, Magneto, turning him into the world's most powerful bowl of tapioca.
4) Turned away an alien invasion by the Z'nox by thinking at them really hard.
5) Took the New Mutants and mentally augmented their powers enabling them to take out Magus, Warlock's father-an entity that could literally rip stars apart.
6) Took a 2nd group of x-men, trained them in their powers and teamwork telepathically, and set them loose on a threat that took out the first team. They were all presumably killed, and Xavier make everyone forget about this. And then formed a 3rd team and tried the whole thing all over again. If at first you don't succeed...
7) Don't make him angry...you wouldn't like him when he's angry. All his repressed anger emotions and guilt over turning Magneto into a drooling idiot came out in the form of Onslaught, a being of pure psychic energy that took out the Avengers, the FF, and The Hulk and transported them into the worst comic event ever; Heroes Reborn...shudder.
8) Was the royal consort for the Queen of an enormous intergalactic empire with nigh-unlimited resources.
9) Kept a newly sentient life-form entrapped and had it run combat simulations for years...all so he could train his private army of impressionable young teens.
And finally...
10) He has possession of The Mind Gem, which would enable him to connect with all minds in existence simultaneously.

So, really, how much can a guy with metal claws or someone who can shoot pressure beams out of his eyes compare to that?

Benel Germosen

Mimic.

He's literally one of the most powerful mutants on the plant.

Edit: Well, technically he's a mutate.
