This is what YABS used to feel like when I joined. You know. Fun. Not to jinx it or anything (no pun intended), but I think this was a really good idea, Gail. Nice one.

Just wanted to establish a level of familiarity. :D

Not trying to rain on anybody's parade, mind you ;)

*Passes out boat drinks with little umbrellas*

It's all good. I can see where it could be mistaken for pandering, but I didn't realize that I missed Old YABS until just then, and felt the need to share. I thought the YABS we just left was always that way and I was just too bored to know the difference, but no, it used to be fun. It used to make me laugh. I remember that now. So I decided to share the epiphany.

Everyone have a drink. We can all be friends.

I prefer the term 'vintage'.

What happened to old YABS?

Basically you had two groups at YABS: people who had very passionate views about certain things and would argue a lot about them, and people who would remind the others not to take things too seriously. Yes, some posters belonged to both groups.

Over time, the group of people who reminded others not to take things too seriously got smaller and smaller.

I never noticed that...except the missing people...I miss them.

How long until that other group gets here?

I guess until then we can party!

Same here, Shisho-bean. YABS had a lot of emotional baggage for me to breathe through to just visit the board, and then with the ratio of cool people to assclowns becoming so far off, I decided to not bother anymore. This is very nice here though. :) A good move.

There may well be a health does of people who do not take things seriously here. There may also be a healthy dose of people who would just like to be ornery for the sheer hell of it.

Oh, I am already here! Hello! (Actually think I was one of the ones who went back and forth.) Gail is also one some of the time.

And you know, without the passionate people YABS would be just too boring.

What Yabs needs in order to be Yabs is a good balance between the two groups...which is looks like we are getting right now.

The mood here does seem a lot less dramatic/combatitive, and more relaxed then CBR has been as of late. Having so many creator-centric forums in one spot will probably not help my comics budget tho. Ah well :)

This forum needs some decoration though. Not sure about a logo, but it looks like Jinxworld can add twitteraccounts as banners, so maybe plug Gail's onto it? It's refreshingly nonsensical

Wow, this board is hopping! I was never a part of the YABS community on CBR. I hope to have enough time to visit here -- seems like just the right kind of madness ;)

Nope. My name is Aegis Bearer, as in the one who wears the Aegis (in this case, it's Wonder Woman, with her bracelets made from Zeus' shield).

Isn't haggis made from sheep intestines? Are you trying to feed me sheep intestines now? That's gross.

You new guys are really something else.

Trying to pawn off your "local Scottish fare" like we don't know anything. We're not stupid dude.

Aegis = EE-jis, not haggis. LOL

Greek myth, not Scottish. :)

So, being Jewish, I'm not into the whole Hitler fetish. Not really funny, either. But, hey, to each his own, right?

I'm really not trying to come off as an asshole. Sorry. The Hitler references were in response to Linkara's post two posts back that said everyone had to make two hitler references, and the first two posts we're just straight attempts at humor with the new guys. I am not always great at figuring out what humor translates on the interwebs and am really just trying to be friendly with the new kids.

Hey, no harm no foul. Just wanted to set that out there since I won't be making any references to Adolf (Guess I've made my quota now, eh?). And, I figure if you're here on this board, you're probably one of the cooler folks anyway. No worries, BriRedfern.

And, I'm new to the forum, but not new to Gail or the Interwebs. ;)

I'll consider this my hazing. I figure everyone needs one.

Wait are we suppose to be talking about other forums, did that rule of Gail's carry over here, or is YABS exempt?

No, I'm totally with you.

It's pretty amazing. We lost a few good people, but also a LOT of people who were just so entrenched and so habitually nasty that I don't miss their nonsense a bit.

Add in lots of new people from Brian's board, and I am a thousand times happier.

I wish CBR well and everything, but I'm happy every day I made the move. I wish I'd done it three years ago.
