I say, why let Brubaker and Bendis have all the fun of shooting their best friends?

Post here what games and systems you have that are online multiplayer and let's see if we can't get some online games set up.

I have all the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games, just to start. I had Champions and Star Trek and quit them both, and Lord of the Rings, they just didn't keep me interested.

But I am gonna go CRAZY on DCU online, I imagine, so people should definitely get that and learn of my awesome STRATEGY!

Depending on how much it will turn out to cost, I'll get DCU online. I have seen gameplay stuff, and I like it.

Apart from that, I play WoW every now and then, not at the moment, though.

I'm on xBox, but I haven't set up an online account yet. I'm kinda shy and don't know how I feel about playing online with other people. I can be convinced if the game sounds cool enough. I didn't realize Guitar Hero was online, though. I might look into that.

I'm just gonna say, if you play an online game with Gail, don't let her use strategy.

And if she does use strategy, there is no help for you.

Finally bought Ultimate Alliance 2, so i'm playing that. I'm down for Red Dead Redemption, and I used to be an avid MW2 player. I'm decent at SSFIV.

But mostly, I'm not very witty, nor am I an awesome player. But I do like to play with friends =)

What's that mean?

Also, I'm from Germany, so the price may differ for me :)

Ahh, sorry.

The PC version will cost $15 US Dollars every month to play. The PS3 version will come with a 30 day free trial, after that point, you'll need to pay $15 US Dollars every month to keep playing.

So, according to google, 11.4898 Euros to play each month.

(After you buy the game, which runs $50 for PC, and $60 for PS3 -- price difference chalking up to the 30 day "free" trial)

I'm really cautious about DCU Online.

Champions looked to be awesome, then it became it's own undoing when it allowed you to use whatever power you liked with no real class system. It meant no need for teams most of the time.

And City of Heroes was repetitive as all hell gameplay-wise. Dungeons all looked exactly the same, and everything was instanced.

Really, the only good thing about both games were the character creation (I must have made a hundred!) and the travel powers.

DCU better have some really great missions and features gameplay-wise.

I have City of Heroes/City of Villains, had Champions with mostly the same interest problems, still have Star Trek Online (things are shaping up over there, then again I'm also a lifer), and have put in for the beta tests on DCU Online and SW:TOR. I'd like to go ahead and pre-purchase DCUO but I've been burned by that in the past so I often wait for the early reports.

edit --
I should point out that I'm playing via my PC since my PS3 had the 'Yellow Light of Doom' issue and I haven't been able to afford either repairing or replacing it yet.

I got a PS3 and occasionally play online, mainly CoD, Resistance, maybe Street Fighter. If anyone wants my ID, I'll be happy to give it to them.

Thanks for the link! Everyone, sign up for beta! They just opened up the signup last week so everyone is on the ground floor. Beta hasn't started yet, although the release date is early November so it shouldn't be long. Pre-order options have comic-related goodies too.

GIMME MAH POWER RING! If this is released the same time as the WoW expansion, I fear my work may suffer.

Right now I'm mostly debating as to which pre-order to get. The collectors editions look to be a bit much for my blood, though.

So is DCU going to merge the servers or will Europe/UK be separate. The worst thing about playing City of heroes in Europe was the small player base.

I have both a PS3 and an Xbox 360.

I think the only multiplayer game I have for the PS3 is Killzone 2. For the 360 I have Halo 3 ODST, Transformers WFC and both Gears of War games.

I'll be picking that up too but I'm not sure what format to get. My laptop is a couple years old now so I don't know if the specs are up to snuff. On the other hand, I find the PlayStation Network to be complete shit so I'm worried about getting disconnected constantly.

PC and Ps3, my Ps3 handle is in my sig.

As for online games I will gladly challenge anyone on this board to a game of Tekken 6

Also for the PS3

Killzone 2
Battlefield Bad Company
Red Faction
Ghostbusters but I uninstalled it
Saints Row II
Uncharted II
Soul Calibur IV but it's laggy as hell.
Mercenaries 2
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
Sacred 2
And a few others, but I'll be happy to play one of the games listed

As for PC the only multiplayer games I have installed right now are Neverwinter Nights, Mechwarrior: Mercenaries, and Diablo II.

It appears that scammers are trying to get personal info from people trying to get into DCU Online:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/08/04/superhero_game_survey_scam/

It looks like they get people to generate income for them by filling in third-party surveys and, at the same time, collect personal info from the responders.

Superhero game beta sucks boobs into honeypot
'Absolutely the most useless Beta key in history'

Gamers anxious to try out DC Universe Online ahead of its official release have become the targets of a scam designed to trick them into completing bogus surveys.

DC Universe Online, a multiplayer online game for Playstation 3 and PCs, will allow gamers to take out bad guys alongside the likes of Batman, Superman and other DC Comics superheroes. Fraudsters have latched onto interest in the game as a theme for fake survey scams that earn them affiliate revenues from unscrupulous web firms.

Numerous fraudulent YouTube videos and blogs have sprung up over recent days touting fake key generation tools for the eagerly-anticipated comic book themed game. Most of these videos or blog posts point to the same spamblog, which invites users to download the “DC Universe Online Beta Registration” package.

Users who attempt to download the software are obliged to complete one of a range of surveys that falsely offer iPads and the like as a potential prize for answering a few questions. In reality, the surveys attempt to hoodwink marks into handing over personal information for later spamming or worse.

(...)

Once the full pay service kicks in, I would expect these sorts of scams to grow, possibly with the addition of bot installers masquerading as key generators that will let you "play for free".

Let's be careful out there!

I'm on Xbox Live and City of Heroes, both as suedenim. Generally don't do much multiplayer Xbox stuff besides Texas Hold'em and Hasbro Game Night (My Scrabble skillz rule, and I play a mean game of Yahtzee!).
