Like a buddy comedy featuring a time displaced Ben Franklin, and a burping, farting, crimefighting car?

Already on it...

you're not a historical character.

this doesn't justify a fic of you fucking alyson hannigan. :p

(not that it would need justification.)

Like how I just heard that Aleister Crowley is in From Hell even though I haven't read it because it's so expensive. If anyone wants to send it to me for free I'll give them a high five.

This might come as a shock, but from what I understand, From Hell is almost nothing but characters from history.

You know what I mean. Cameos and whatnot.

Yeah but I'm talking about real characters, not pre-existing fiction characters, although that's cool too.

i thought i remembered some real characters in that as well, though they were definitely only cameo roles.

Once again, everyone's missing the point. I'm talking about cameos to help establish the reality of the deal. Like Mickey Rooney in Gravity's Rainbow, or Ben Franklin in Mason & Dixon. Not figures from the past interacting with characters from the present. Figures from the time that the story takes place in.

Heh.

I remember doing this in comics I drew back in Jr. High (I was very inspired by Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure) it blew my History teacher's freakin mind!

It can work. I don't like big-name historical figures showing up, but it can be cool to root events in actual history. Adds another connection for the reader.

I guess, though that was more of a featured role and less of a cameo. But yeah, in the grand scheme of the series, I guess it was a quick pop-in.

i don't like it if it fictionalizes a real person's life.

Like Finding Neverland made me cry and totally touched my heart, but then when I found out that the history was played with to make a dramatic story, i felt somewhat cheated
