I Had Quite A Lovely Birthday

After ten days of theme parks and San Diego Comicon, I asked my husband not to do anything elaborate for my b-day this year, or to delay it until we'd gotten all rested up.

So we mostly stayed around home. Went out to Thai food (mango spicy shrimp, good LORD that was good) and saw the movie SALT which was very interesting conceptually if not terribly involving.

I received some beautiful gifts from readers, as well. Tom (Honor Brigade) Stillwell sent a Taste of Chicago package with Lou Malneti's pizza (yum!) and desert canolli, Kyuubi brought me a GORGEOUS and ultra-cool Shazam beach towel, and Harley Quinn brought me two bags of precious gifts from her and Pseudicide, including a handmade Catman voodoo doll and handmade Knockout/Scandal earrings that I will treasure forever.

Several readers drew art for me, and there were many hundreds of happy birthday greetings by email, facebook, twitter, and at CBR.

A lovely day indeed. It's nice to know people are thinking of you!

It is indeed! He's an adorable little guy, for all that I can only see the things that are wrong with him, but i'm the maker, and that's pretty normal. Now to go back to make an army of birds of prey and secret six plushies!

I carried that little doll around everywhere at SDCC. I was terrified to lose it but I didn't want to leave it behind. A TON of people took photos of me with it.
